I've always said that 8-8 was a possibility. Playoffs? One game, one series, one play at time.

If we played the way we have played for the past 2 games, than I can't say that it would be improbable for us to go... say 14-2... if we keep this up.

BUT, the chances of us playing like that every week, every quarter, every SNAP is very unlikely and also the chance of us finally evading the injury bug for an entire year is even more unlikely.

With that said, I could see us going 11-5 if things go our way but my official prediction is 10-6 (I like to give myself a little bit of a bubble)!

I'm very proud of this franchise recently for a few reasons

- we have a 100% improvement over last year (literally 1 win to 2 wins is a 100% improvement)
-we have what seems like good coaching and staff
-our fans are finally into it! did you hear them today!?!??! it was awesome.

When i went to see the phins a few years ago, i was the only one yelling for our team it seemed like and it always disturbed me a little bit that a 13 year old had more passion for this team than a lot of the people who were sitting in that stadium.

I completely rambled on this post and i have forgotten my original reason for posting but those are the posts with the most heart IMO

From the looks of things a 9-7 team may sneak into the playoffs in the AFC this year. Then again, the past two seasons Miami had a 10-6 record they didn't make the playoffs. Going 8-4 from here on out is a possibility. Our schedule this year is much softer than it was last year.
Wrong again. I tried politely to tell you this but, you INSIST on being wrong. Ya know, when someone suggests to you that you might need to look it up, instead of still insisting that you have it, why not check it out. Just go to NFL.com and look at the tiebreak procedures.

As it stands now the Pats would be a wild-card and all the 2-2 teams would be tied. However, the Jets would push us out of the mix with a head to head win over us. If you go look, when breaking wild card ties, all the division ties must first be broken. Technically, we are in last place in the division. The last spot would be the Jets vs. other 2-2 teams and it would go to conference record. Check it out for yourself. Or just ask me because Im an expert on this stuff. But, seeing as you cant either take my word for it, or at least go check it out when I try and tell you the first time, just go see for yourself.

Besides, its all moot right now anyways. Long way to go. But, that Jets loss at home was huge. We really needed that game. Now we are most likely going to be forced to win up there in the last game if we already have 9 wins going into that one.

so you are saying we beat better than average teams? i have to disagree pats came off a win with cassel looking good this week and the week before we played them... SD (yes some injuries) but are still as explosive as they were last year they need to get into a rhythm which the dolphins defense help prevent this week...

i give credit where credit is due. did the dolphins step up and deliver? yes
did we play beyond our perceived capabilities? yes
if this was the playoffs and we played either team, is there a chance that the outcome be different? yes.

I'm very proud of this team. And I'm happy they don't
think like us. Their worrying about the Texans and only
the Texans, and that's a mind set we haven't had around
here in a long long time.

How? Please explain. Phins are in 4th in the AFCE. Jets have the tiebreaker.

As I look at the standings in the AFC, I think it'd be 1) Tenn 2) Buffalo 3) Denver 4) Steelers 5) Ravens 6) Pats

I could be wrong. So, any illumination is appreciated.

It's the coaches job to make sure the players know this.

As fans......so what? I sat at the bar through 14 losses last year (I was riding a bus home from Denver to South Dakota during the November loss to the Bills). As fans, we were able to enjoy ONE win. We haven't had much to look forward to lately and it's nice to be able to sit around in October thinking about playoff possibilities instead of draft possibilities.

You can go about your way of enjoying a win for a day, then think about next week. Just let me go about enjoying this teams success the way that I want to, and that's dreaming about playoff chances!

How does it help the team for me to stay focused on Houston? It doesn't. Fans love seeing their team win and want their team to be the best. Whether it's week 5 or week 12, I'm loving the wins and dreaming of the possibilities.

One last point.....I would rather spend the next week thinking we have a chance to make the playoffs. If we lose the next 12 games, at least I was able to have a week of hope this season! I haven't been able to think playoffs in years. **** it, let us dream!

This is one of my favorite Dolphins teams in years...the potential is amazing.

If Edwards is out for awhile...this division is wide open.

as far as playoff chances,I have to see consitancy. If they beat Houston, and go 3 straight wins in a row,I can start imagining, but believing,Im not reayd to fall head over hills...for them...yet

The next 3 games are winnable. @ Houston, vs. Baltimore, and vs. Barfalo (especially if Edwards is out, Losman sucks)

We could easily be 5-2.

We have a hard enough time winning up there during the early part of the season...it's going to be worse on the last week.
