The Jets don't have anyone on their staff as good as Ireland. We'll be beating the Jets in the draft and on the field for years to come.

Any player taken in the top 10-15 spots should be starting....thats why they are rated so high.

I said this from day one(even before the Jets drafted him), that Gholsten had the most potential out of any projected first round pick to become an absolute bust. This news about him struggling right now, does not surprise me one bit.

dude gholston is going to be a stud. like the jets fan said (and god do i hate freakin agreeing with anything that has New York in its name) Mario Williams was labeled a bust but now you have to gameplan around williams and creat blocking schemes to stop him.

Guys, Mario Williams is a league above Vernon Gholston. Gholston is a one more pure pass rusher while Mario Williams is the most complete defensive end to come out of the draft since Julius Peppers.

The Merling/Holliday and Henne/Pennington comparisons would be viable if these guys were drafted #6, as Vernon Gholston was. Not the same as a #2 or #3 pick. Worlds of difference, actually.
And please. Dont try and tell me that the staff didnt plan on him overtaking Bryan Thomas. He has not come along as quickly as they had hoped, which is fine, but quit feeding us this garbage about "the plan" not being for him to contribute in his first year. |
