Looks like tarzan plays like jane... runs well in a straight line...

Reminds me of our late FB Konrad...

Late? did he die?

I liked Konrad, not only cause he went to the Cuse, I thought he was a good fullback. Just couldnt lose the injury bug and later on retired because of a bad back, or neck.

Actually he succeeded very well as a rookie return man and showed flashes of the WR he will become. As a rookie WR he's right on pace to look better this year and come into his own by year three. All our WR's looked like crap last year with garbage QB play. Only RB's are players coming out of the draft are expected to show what their made of right out of the gates.
The difference between Ginn and Gholston is Ginn looked great as a return man which is his bread and butter, Gholston has looked poor at rushing the passer which is his bread and butter. I know we haven't played a game yet but you expect players that are good/great at one thing to show it ala J.Long looks the part of a dominant run blocker and so far looks like he can handle speed rushers too.

Ginn looked "great" as a return man? he averaged 22.7 per KR which is not good, he averaged 9.6 per PR which is ok. He was FAR from great as a return man.

This is a typical Jets fan response. Don't address the fact that you insist that your #6 overall pick wasn't drafted to start for your 4-12 team, instead fire back with something that everyone knows already. We all know how long it's been sinse the Phins made the playoffs, which is why we need our picks to start.

Considering the Jets WERE 4-12 last year, how in the world can anyone justfy Gholston not NEEDING to start?

You gonna answer the question this time or make some stupid comment about the Dolphins?

Yep it's a typical Jet fan response We SIGNED Calvin Pace this offseason and the offseason prior we re-signed bryan Thomas to a long term deal. Gholston was not drafted to start right away, he's a4-3 end in college coming to a new level, new system and new position. To expect him to start day 1 shows me a lack of football knowledge on the part of those that expected that.

You're right, teams often pay players $21 million in guarantees to be a backup...

I should have just assumed that!

Maybe we just expect more out of our players than you or the Jets do.

You haven't followed the FL long, have you? He wasn't drafted to be a career backup but again he is a bit of a project and they are bringing him along slowly. Some players are ready to start day 1, some aren't, some are forced to play day 1. Ted Ginn was a top pick last year, he didn;t start from day 1, jason Allen was your 1st rd pick 2 years ago and didn't start at all in his rookie year, Vernon Carey was your 1st rd pick in '04 and didn't start as a rookie. Some players are ready to go from day 1 and others aren't. We had 2 starters at OLB when we drafted him, he was not drafted to be the starter this year.

Devin Hester averaged 21.7 on kick returns.. I guess he isnt a great return man

Hetser has 4 KR TDs which is 4 more than Ginn and Hetser is not a great KR, he's a great PR where he has 7 PR TDs in 2 years which is 6 more than Ginn and in his rookie season hetser had 2 KR TDs and 4 PR TDs, Ginn had the 1 PR TD. Please don't bring up Devin hester when discussin ted Ginn.
