You do what you can. If it had been you, and your new team had asked you to share what you know, you'd have done it...

You don't do anything in sports or life just because you "can", you have to be able to look back on your career with pride. Hey, lets just agree to disagree on this. I would not have done it because it was not "in the spirit of the game"......thats just me. |

I remember that day. I was 20yo at the time. There wasn't any cheating involved. The Pats just recognized our audibles when we used them because we used the same set of audibles every game we played them. JJ then had to change the audibles around. It's not like they filmed our practices.

If I'm not mistaken, Jimmy Johnson went public in tv and said that all teams cheat. Other coaches agreed so spygate is nothing but a hypocrite onslaught. The senate should have no bussiness in football affairs. Specially a pennsylvania senator.

IMO, i think its BS. If you know the play you have an advantage. You can make cases for both arguements

Jimmy Johnson is a announcer and not a coach anymore. Any BS that spewed from his mouth is part of the NFL's cover up and should be taken with a grain of salt. Ask the active coaches what they think. Ohh yeah, they passed the mic'D up D player rule didn't they? All announcers, officials, the commisioners office, and the Pats are wanting this thing to go away because they have helped taint the game of football and the NFL in general.

Second of all, the spirit of the game? BS! If JJ had picked up an ex-Pat, he'd have asked for the same type of insight. It has nothing to do with the spirit of the game. It has to do with trying to get every advantage you can legally get. This is the NFL, not freaking Pee-Wee football. Should Byars have taken a vow to never dispell anything he knew about the Dolphins upon his release? If they'd asked him for a scouting report on our right guard, should he have refused to give it because it violates "the spirit of the game"? Of course not! The man has every right to share what he knows, especially when he's treated as shabbily as JJ treated him... |
