Farve vs PenningtonYou know I am glad most of you love the idea of "Noodle Arm" Pennington being our QB. I am a Dolphin fan through and through and even though I was against the signing of Pennington I will throw 100% of my support behind him regardless but that is not my issue with this whole Farve vs Pennington debate.
I must say since posting on this site this Farve vs Pennington debate is without a doubt the single most retarded thing I have ever read. For anyone to even insinuate Pennington is even in the same league as Brett Farve is just non-sense. I am not a Packers fan nor am I really a Brett Farve fan but I do posses something the "Noddle Arm Amry" obviously does not and that is common sense. I’m sorry but Pennington wouldn’t be able to wash Farve's jock strap. What has Pennington done in his NFL career except be slightly above average and get cut by his team this year? Farve started every single game of his career for the Packers and not even Marino can say that not to mention Montana, Young, or Elway. Brett Farve is a freak of nature whose talent at the QB position is not even his most valuable asset. Farve’s overall competiveness over shadows any QB in the past 50 years in my opinion. For anyone to even compare Pennington to Farve is retarded to say he is better is just downright dumb. I would take Brett Farve at 44 instead over Pennington at any age. Brett Farve regardless of his age is better than Pennington. I don’t care about the stats recently comparing the two the bottom line is Farve is a gamer whose intangibles are off the charts. I won’t even comment on the fact I heard one person say Henne was better than Pennington because he has yet to play a regular season game and that was simply an uneducated statement on that persons part. Sorry for my rant. The bottom line is Pennington is our guy now and like I stated I am 100% in his corner now. But to compare Farve to Pennington just shows a severe lack of common sense on their part. I wish Pennington all the best and by no means am I trying to say we should have tried to sign Farve either. I was against that as well because even Farve wouldnt solve our long term problem. I was hoping Beck would step up and if not I was hoping Henne would do the same. It appears Henne has but now with the signing of Pennington we most likely wont know anything about Henne for at least 3 or 4 years unless Pennington flops badly. I did like what I read one person say on here. We are never going to know who the next Marino is because there never will be one and we wont know who the next QB of the future is until they show up. Maybe that Henne maybe it isn't but what I do know is Pennington is the guy for now and that is all I need to know to throw my support his way. Go Fins and to hell with Tom Brady and the Patriots. Peace love and The Miami Manatees. OUT

Favre got cut by his team too. Hopefully you're not forgetting that, like everybody else seems to when they say that Pennington got cut.

You're right Pennington isn't Favre, it's ridiculous to compare the 2. However, he's the best we have right now whether fans want to admit it or not. Or FO and coaches aren't out there to lose. If one of the young guys out performs Pennington they will play and I'll be a lot happier if Henne or Beck outshine Pennington then if they outshine josh McCown. That would tell me they at least beat out a starting QB in the NFL as opposed to a guy in McCown who's not even a has been, he's a never was. I think many finheaven posters are pissed about the Pennington signing becuase they KNOW he's better than Henne and Beck and he will start for us. This means all of the energy they've spent on the board arguing for either young QB was for not as they will be WRONG whether they're in the Henne camp or the Beck camp. As dumb as it sounds I know that upsets folks. Being RIGHT about what they post on a silly message board is really important to some posters. The silly business of Parcells wanting Pennington to start because he's familiar with him is stupid as well. Parcells and Sparano want to build and at least try to win. Noodle arm is our best QB right now deal with it.
Since 2002 2 AFC East teams have made the playoffs and the name of their QB's were Brady and Pennington. Maybe everybody disagrees with me but I always thought we hung with those Jet teams talent wise, but our QB's sucked. Is anyone going to argue that the 2002 and 2006 Jets had much, much more talent than the Dolphins? I think they had a better QB, that's about it.

released vs cutQuote:
Pennington held no real trade value and Pennington doesnt sell out football games on name alone. Farve on the other hand was one game removed from the Super Bowl last year. There was no media buzz with Pennington. Farve's media buzz lasted months and still isnt over. If Pennington runs a lap in practice for fumbling a snap no one cares. When Farve runs a lap for fumbling a snap it's posted on youtube with in minutes with hundrends of thousands of viewers. Pennington Dolphin jerseys wont sell even close to the ammount that Farve Jets jerseys will. Pennington never graced the cover of Madden. None of that means a hill of beans about the two QB's playing ability the point I am trying to make is Farve is in a league of his own when it comes to QB's. Pennington in the grand scheme of things means nothing in the world of hall of fame QB's. Hopefully he plays hall of fame calibur at Miami then I would be estatic. Peace love and the Miami Manatees.

I think it's really funny that his nickname is "noodle arm." He was a promising young QB before Chris Kelsay ruined his career. I wasn't surprised at all that the Fish grabbed him up considering their QB situation. But the money they gave him is definitely a head scratcher. Definitely should have just bit the bullet and stuck with Beck.
