HYDE article on Mare and Feely

I thought I was in the minority on the Feely signing. Looks like someone else is wondering about the move

I believe we are making a lateral move as well. But I know that mare's attitude hasnt ever been that good, and with his adequate performances the last few years, and the new regime being rubbed the wrong way maybe you never know. we are asking players to restructure and none are, so they are getting the boot. Kevin Carter, Mare soon, possibly McMike.

I think the decisions regarding the K spot is based on money more than performance. Jay Feely only impacts the cap around $600,000 per year versus Mare's $2.1 mil

I have never like Mare's attitude...he is "too good" to take a paycut...something that Zach and JT do all the time to restructure their salary to fit into the cap. So long Mare...don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Oh boo hoo. Sentimental crap Hyde is bringing up. Football is a business, we're all told that a million times. For every story like that, there are 1,000 more that can make you feel worse.

Mare will get a job eventually, and if not he has his millions to fall back on.

The fact is he has missed too many important kicks and sometimes too many kicks, to be counted on.

Growing up, Mare was one of my favorite players because of how good he is. And I'll always remember the time when I wanted a Mare jersey over anyone else on the team not named Marino. Mare did his job very well for a long time, and he'll be remembered for that.

But sometimes you just have to move on.

If im the coach and Mare says to me,I dont need to practice kicking off the dirt.I would say, either start practicing,or start packing.

Bottom line.

If Mare actualy prcticed we would have made the playoffs in 02.I cant stand that he thinks hes the **** and cant be bothered prcticing.

Whatever We just got a young kicker.

Then they bring up if you take away this field goal and that one....Shut up allready. He ****n missed it .You cant take a miss back and there is no excuse.Hes paid to kick the fing ball.BYE MARE.

Drew all on his nutts. They should be happy together.

GO DOLPHINS.......#1

Heres to scoring when we have the ball.**** field goals.

He hits the endzone on every kick off but cant make the
Goals.Bye.

I'm so tired about the touchback thing that everyone that doesn't want to see mare go leans on. I made a post about it in another thread, and I think for his career avg., Feely has 5 less touchbacks a year than Mare. Is that worth it to have a guy who is close to 10 percent less accurate the last three years than feely?

I can understand if the kicker we got couldn't even reach the endzone, and we had our defense having to start defending from the 30 yardline and beyond every series, but Feely is not bad, and five less A YEAR, is not something that anyone should be worried about. I trust our defense to make a bigger diference in stopping the other team from scoring than the extra two yards that Mare was giving us.

I don't wish any bad on Mare, and I hope Mare does fine wherever he goes, but if you don't think that his field goal misses have hurt us badly in the last few years, than you're kidding yourself.
