The object is to win games and McCown has failed to do that at the College and NFL level. At least both Beck and Henne have a past of being able to win games, that is something McCown has failed to do at any level!
Yah... and that's why BP & sons wanted him so bad... Yawn

What has McCown done to prove that he is capable of leading any team to the playoffs? He cant even lead a division I team to a winning record. If McCown starts all 16 games, it will be a very long season of losing, and we will be drafting Matt Strafford with the #1 overall pick in next years draft.
Why do you think he is a good QB? when he has never been able to throw more TD's than interceptions in a season except for the one season he played at DivI-AA. Even in a weak conference at SMU, he could not produce a solid season.

Neither Beck nor Henne are the future atm. They are still both very unknown. You draft Henne or whoever at value in the draft in case Beck doesn't pan out. Since the chances of a QB failing are greater then not. This goes for Henne also, we don't know if he will pan out either. I sure hope both of them do, since that would be a great problem to have.

Just because we drafted Henne, that doesn't mean Beck is on the way out. It means get better or someone else will take the job. BP has no idea which of these two will be the better one, but competition should show it. I wouldn't be shocked if we take another QB next year, unless one of the QB's we have blows us away.

Well in the three full games he played Jessie Chatman was the starter and he had averaged about a 100 yards a game prior to Beck starting. Gado only started the one game versus Buffalo of which Beck made enough mistakes for even Cameron to say enough is enough. Ted Ginn had been starting since Chris Chambers was traded and Marty Booker started all year. No other starters were out. For the record the one game we won that was Cleo's best game Gado also started so lets not blame Gado for the qb performance. Beck was a rookie and played like one. Jamarcus Russel did not look too impressive either, the only rookie qb that was solid was Trent Edwards.

Troy Aikman was a pretty good quitter when he transferred from Oklahoma. He turned out ok. Qb's transfer all the time, maybe McCown did noy want to have to sit out a year so he went non division 1a. Trent Edwards was on one of the worst teams in college football and looks like he will be a solid qb on the nfl level.

Chatman became the starter two games (three weeks) prior to Beck starting against Philadelphia and had his first and only 100 yard game of the season the week before against Buffalo. Fact is, that was the only game all season Chatman gained over 80 yards rushing in any game. Jesse missed the second Buffalo game because of an ankle injury.

Ted Ginn did not start against the Eagles and the Steelers because Cameron went to a two TE set to start each game. Ginn still caught more passes during those two games than he had the previous four games he started combined.

McCown transfered from SMU not because he couldn't perform in Division I, he transfered because SMU was put on probation again and he wanted to prove he could direct an aerial attack instead of the run-dominated option-style attack the Mustangs ran.

Not that it means anything but Jay Cutler has not had a winning season as a starting QB since his senior year in high school.

Chatman gained more yards because they ran the ball more and altough Ginn might have caught more passes how many yards did he receive? Very short passes.

If they start McCown, I give up. There's absolutely no reason to start a journeyman QB like him.

Well, regardless of the reasons of why McClown transferred from SMU to Sam Houston State, the fact is he still sucks.

I think we are going to be in the same boat this year as every year prior. We are going to play Wanny ball. Run Rick and Ronnie, play defense and hope that one quarterback won't turn the ball over. However John Beck can't even hold on to the snap, so I don't know how he gives us the best chance to win. I saw enough of him last year to know this guy sucks!
