before signing with Atlanta he was a tenacious defender known for hitting people very hard! I like him, major upgrade over Cam Worrell, i see a lot of competition on our defense, this is a good thing.
just dug up this interview with him from last year before the falcons versed the colts. pretty cliche interview but still might give a little insight into his character.
Dolphins signed S Chris Crocker to a one-year, $1.15 million contract. NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the deal includes $300,000 guaranteed.
Crocker adds competition for Yeremiah Bell and Keith Davis at strong safety. He could also see some action on the free side if Jason Allen fails to impress in training camp. Ideally, Allen will be the Week 1 starter and establish himself as something of a building block in the secondary.
Full Name: Christopher Alan Crocker
Born: March 9, 1980Chesapeake, VA
Comment:Crocker is fast, tough and experienced. He has solid play strength and is at his best against the run. He has good intangibles. He communicates in the secondary and has tremendous value as a core special teams player. He reads his keys, reacts quickly and attacks downhill against the run. He has the speed to run the alleys while maintaining leverage on the ball. He can avoid trash and use his hands to ward off and shed blocks. He is a physical insert player who can be reckless with his body. He can cover a lot of ground quickly and has good range potential in coverage. He can pedal and open his hips. He has the ability to match up with backs and tight ends. But Crocker is inconsistent in coverage. His pattern recognition is questionable, and he sometimes seems uncomfortable in deep coverage. He is most natural in short zones. He doesn't always take proper angles to the ball. He sometimes fails to wrap up on tackles.

Thank You Bp And Jesus Ive Mentioned This Guy Along With Doss ,boulware, Kennedy. I Would Have Rather Had Kennedy But This Guy Is Good Too. He Will Be A Starter This Year And He Lays The Wood. Def A Good Pick Up
We we signed crocker, I'm from atlanta and we cut him becasue he kept getting burnt..
I live here as well and you are absolutely correct. He was torched last year. The Falcons were one team worse than us last year and he did not do much to stop the bleeding on D. I hope he turns it around with the Phins. He is supposed to be a big hitter, maybe he'll contribute on special teams.
Seems like the organization is counting on Jason to be the FS, and is bringing in these guys (Davis and Crocker) to compete with Yeremiah for the SS spot.
I didn't know much about Crocker before I heard about the signing. Everything I have read up on him sounds pretty good though. Seems he is better at run defense than pass though. Guess we will wait and see how he does.
