Merged: Sparano wins over Miami players

Looks like he has won over the players on the team. They like his demeanor and how he approaches things. Unlike the 3 previous coaches-

http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/fo...ry/669309.html

And in case you missed it, this is Sparano wired at a practice a month ago-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqOMKOdlfUU

And lastly, in case you missed it, this was a sportscenter spoof with him regarding the Sopranos name thing-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9Z0kw4ieDw

I really like this coach.. I know he has the personality I would love to play for.. Much moreso than a Eric Mangini who has no personality whatsoever and talks with little audible volume like he's a shy girl.

All Sparano has to do is coach...Ricky Williams would run through walls for BP...THAT'S the biggest factor...years back the Phins owned the Pats...when Bill took over , we beat the dreaded Phins IN MIami for the first time in decades...with NOTHING...why the hell do you guys think Pleasant is palying nose tackle? Watch...

He has the perfect attitude that our team needs. But it looks like he has gotten their respect and thats so important as a coach now lets see if the fire he lit stays lit 100% of the games

Sparano has respect of his players

http://www.miamiherald.com/1262/story/669309.html

This is a good article about the differences between this staff and the last two.

I really thought Saban had his head on straight when he first came here. He tried to micromanage too much.

I didn't like the Cameron hire.

I really like this new group we brought in. I think they have the potential to do great things.

Thanks for posting the article.

I always like articles with alot of player quotes. The Miami writers are the worst in all of sports IMO and words from their mouths lost merit to me long ago. If this Barry Jackson aproaches his articles like this more often he will quickly be the top reporter for us IMO.

I love the hire of Sparano. You tell early by the way the players were talking that this coaching staff was making an impact. Nice to hear that an air of respect and accountability has been re-established in the locker room. Here is to a truly new beginning.

Funny that players all of a sudden respect the current regime. I always thought that one should always respect your boss, regardless of whether you agree or not. Seems like alot of the players today really are hard and fast "what have you done lately" in terms of respecting a coach.

Anyways, shut up and play that is my motto.

The team knows what the regime can do. Parcells has built successful franchises wherever he has gone.

Just because someone is brought in at a HC position doesn't mean they automatically deserve respect. Especially coaches that have never coached in the NFL (Saban and Cam) before. The didn't deserve or command respect and Saban was a bully that no one liked. It was Holliday and Carter that turned that season around for Dick Satan by defieing him and telling the media that the team had no heart. For Sparano to never coach before and already get the respect of vets like Holliday, Porter, and Bell says alot. I don't know if you ever played football or not but the football world you apparently beleive in as far as respect goes will never exist becqause of Cams, Dick Satans, and Petrinos. Do you kactuall think Satan and Petrino should ever be trusted with jobs or peoples children again. What kind or morals does that show?

I agree with you 100% G-force. This is how Barry approaches his articles. You get more info in one paragraph from BJ than you do from these long winded idiots. That's the main reason I like posting his articles.

I think it runs deeper than just Sparano.

Also let me add that I like this whole staff.. Players can sense when a coaching staff prepares them well ( and properly), and it gives players an "added confidence" when they go into games.

Pasqualoni and Bowles were great hires for the defense.. I also think Dan Henning is one of the best co-ordinators offensively in football.. He was the co-ordinator for a couple of those Redskins super bowl teams.. And he was the co-ordinator for Carolina taking them from a 1-15 team to a Super bowl berth within 2 years (with a young QB in Delhomme) .. Not to mention he was the Jets co-ordinator when the Jets went from a 1-15 team to a 12-4 team in just 2 years under Parcells.

I saw Dan Henning speak in an interview on the team site a few months ago and I really like his demeanor. I think he is a HUGE addition to this coaching staff... Think of those Redskin pro-set power offenses they ran when they won super bowls. And those teams kicking A$$ with "the hogs" up front. THAT will be our offense, eventually.

Overall, Parcells has formed a great coaching staff from top to bottom that the players believe in and love playing for imo...

Lots of great points Greyboy. And with the new staff and new players comes an energy and that is not an energy of a 1-15 team its one of a contending team. He has gotten players and coaches he trusts and that staff has gotten the players to buy into the system. This "turnaround" may be alot faster than most of us expect. I have never seen a unit bond and unify so quickly. and they are playing like their hair is on fire. The D has a 3 and out mentality and believes in it. And you mentioned that we had the Dcoord's Pasqualoni bugged the hell out of farve last year in Dallas advantage US. And the O has bought into the run the ball control the clock and working off play action no griping is going on we understand what it is gonna take to win games. And we WILL WIN GAMES but it will be a total team effort.

GO FINS!!
