I guess now we know why the Dolphins so desperately wanted Calvin Pace in Free Agency. I sure hope Moses, Anderson, or possibly Merling can fill those shoes adequately.
I am still looking for Torbor to break into that starting group, he has really caught my eye throughout the pre season, always making plays, always around the ball.

He sure didn't look like he was in pain when he juped up off Croyle and was celebrating the sack with Crowder. Just an observation
Maybe he tuoghs it out for the opener, but he has not been feeling good and has been experincing pain lately in his back and knee. I rather a player that is a 100% come opening day then a player who can give it his all. We are gonna need a real big team effort to beat those Jets and its gonna take everything we have.

I think KFFL is jumping the gun on the Miami Herald story. He is in pain, but as FTP pointed out, he played against the Chiefs and played well. I still think he will play this season.

Torbor could be moved to Inside LB and AKin could move to weakside. He has played the position before and has good speed to rush. Im sure Miami has thought about it. They might also be wanting to see if Merling can perform at OLB like he has at DE. If Merling can shine at the position the might have found a long term answer. Thankgod Roth is coming along at OLB, regardless Miami will need to make a big run at Suggs next year or draft the next Demarcus Ware.

Nub its not KFFL, apparently Salguero broke the story and the title says that Proter's season is in jeapordy. Hopefully we get him for the opener, but Salguero usually is good with his sources. I wonder if Miami is thinking about parting with one of those 2nd picks now. A guy like Ellis comes to mind, but given Spencers recent injury I doubt it. I wonder if Miami is thinkng about aquire anyone right now or if they are gonna let Roth and Anderson tough it out.

I hope you're right.... that's what we need... This year's draft wasn't very "sexy" either, but I'll consider any consensus #1 at thier position to be a sexy pick if it's in the top half of the first round! A pick that can solidify a position for years to come (a la Jake Long).... that's what this team needs to, and will, focus on.

dude, we were 1-15 and messed up with JT. Him wanting to leave could be a blessing.

I don't know about you, but I think the WR position as as sexy as they come.

Maybe we can snatch somebody to fill his spot when roster cutdowns happen.

Waiting for someone to be cut to fill a main position is not something you want to do. Right now Miami's best bet is to throw away the defensive playbook and switch to a 4-3. This is how it would look.

SSLB: Reggie Torbor
MLB:Channing Crowder
WSLB: Akin Ayodele

DE: Merlin
DT:Holliday
DT Ferguson
DE:Langford

We just dont have the talent if Porter goes out.

maybe we can find someone at least for the short term off waivers to fill porters role.

i also don't believe he's done yet but fergusons comments leads me to believe there's more to this injury than many of us think.

if he retired tomorrow i still think we're on the hook for the $20 mil guaranteed.
