My Pre-Season Game One Report....

It's the first preseason game from a 1-15 team with 47 new players...so what do you expect?

Lets remember....Tampa's defense isn't a crappy defense...I believe they were the top rated defense last season....and it's well known that a teams offense is normally slower to come around, than it's defense.

Not exactly a rarity among NFL quarterbacks to lose control of the football a little bit when they get hit in the blind side. He didn't lose complete control of the football or have it knocked away, the ball stayed with him and he was able to fall on it as he was being sacked.

Your right CK, but one of things I look for in a quarterback is his ability to create things when his blocking breaks down, turn a negative play into a positive.

So far, albeit a limited amount of evidence, I see more of this ability in Henne than I do Beck. Henne put that one ball right on the receivers shoulder when the blitz was coming.

I also see a QB in Henne that can make plays downfield on 3rd and very long situations, I believe he converted twice on these if I'm not mistaken.

But its still very early........................

I'm not questioning Blitz's impressions, (and thank he and Ozzie for generously sharing them) just like I don't Ozzie's ,the other FH'er who regularly attends the TCs and games. It's funny but understandable that often reading their recaps, you'd think they were at different practices. Although no expert, I do know a little about psychology, and understand that our subjective perceptive sets and predispositions cause us to process information through often differently-colored and curved prisms. And fersure they are mostly colored prisms.. objectivity is a commodity that's near impossible to come by, as confirmed by the fannish bloggers passing themselves off as reporters. It's no wonder that a criminal investigator interviewing 10 witnesses often ends up with 10 different descriptions. We generally see what we want to see, often on a subconscious level based on personal biases and expectations. It's human nature. Blitz sees a struggling Beck while Ozzie sees a decent and improving Beck through training camp..both in person and with their own eyes. Like the old saying goes: "there are always 3 sides to every story - yours, mine and reality".

I appreciate the reports and evals from everyone whether I agree with my own eyes or not, and hope that criticisms don't deter them from continuing. Thanks.
