I love Vonate and his ronnie brown-ness but if we just came out of that draft with Sean Smith, I think it was worth it. I haven't seen play like this in a while, speaking of his all around play.
The best part is that it was flawless coverage. There wasn't any pass interference. He just simply shielded the receiver with his body and made an amazing play on the ball! I though that he would never make an Utah'ish (Legendary) type INT ever again but I was wrong. It's scary to think of having a shut down corner who can play press, has WR type hands, and is 6'3". SIX THREE!!! If he continues to develop there should be NO reason why he can't be the most feared corner in the league. Sean "Lock" Smith!!!!

Smith has looked great. Let's remember that he has yet to play against anyone worth talking about. Although that pick would have been made against Jerry Rice with Moss on his shoulders.
He may turn out to be the pick of the draft. Add in that Davis could be as good or better. We did well.
That was off the charts!! Made it look easy, 2 picks this preseason already and last game he almost got another. Almost a pick a game!!!
What gets me excited the most is he has looked like a WR on both picks.
It was a great play. But lets all keep our heads. Let him play and continue to develop before throwing tags on him. He looks to have the natural instincts and the physical tools. But let him face some quality WR's and some lethal QB's before saying he's 'Lock' or whatever.
The pure 'Lock' down corners in the league had to earn their reputation. A preseason doesn't earn you anything but a job and a chance to prove yourself.
