It was a great play. But lets all keep our heads. Let him play and continue to develop before throwing tags on him. He looks to have the natural instincts and the physical tools. But let him face some quality WR's and some lethal QB's before saying he's 'Lock' or whatever.
The pure 'Lock' down corners in the league had to earn their reputation. A preseason doesn't earn you anything but a job and a chance to prove yourself.
There are no pure lock down CB's in the NFL. The last one was NEON.

The 2007 season was a lonely existence for Asomugha, who paid for his eight-interception breakout season of 2006. Not even established star quarterbacks such as Brett Favre and Peyton Manning, neither short on confidence or receivers, would challenge him. Opposing quarterbacks tested him only 31 times with a mere 10 completions the entire season.
One NFL scout told Pro Football Weekly that Asomugha was thrown at "less than any defender in the last ten years" in 2007
Opposing quarterbacks tested Asomugha only 27 times with 8 completions allowed the entire season. Only perennial all-pros Randy Moss (3 receptions, 40 yards) and Tony Gonzalez (2 receptions, 34 yards) would catch more than one ball on him during the year. New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Asomugha is "as complete a cornerback as he has seen all year

Point goes to: Dolfan DuBbZ. Even Trufant didnt have numbers that good. Sean has potential though.

I completely agree. But Y. Green had all the potential in the world, and look how that turned out. Bad example I know, but its a fact of life in a fast/violent sport like professional football. I hope to goodness sake Smith turns out to be a shut down dominating force for years to come. But lets watch him develop and earn his way. He will get tested this year...by some SB winning qb's and some 2-4 year stud qb's. I understand the excitement. I seen the play and was in awe like the rest. He shows the mental game and physical game needed to be what we all hope him to be. Dominate!
Let him develop and earn his way is all I'm saying. Nice sig, but he hasn't shut anyone down of importance.
