Pictures from training camp (Aug. 4th - morning session)

***NOTE: I AM LIMITED TO ONLY 10 PICTURES PER POST, THAT IS WHY THERE ARE MULTIPLE POSTS. MY OBSERVATIONS ARE ON THE LAST POST***

Hey guys and gals, ya'll liked the pictures I posted last week so much that I decided to throw up some I took today.

Early on in the morning it was pretty empty (although it did fill up by the end of practice):

The wide-outs were the first to hit the field today:

This gave them some time to talk:

As a group, they did pretty good today, and had fun doing it:

And Bess continues to impress:

Hagan got some attention, and dap (fist pound), from the Tuna:

But the wide-outs weren't the only ones catching balls, Ricky pulled in a nice one:

But let's not forget the guys who throw the balls, there were there too:

Sometimes they threw side by side:

Other times they threw on their own:

And sometimes they looked a little goofy:

And sometimes they did look confident:

They didn't always throw to receivers though (they are throwing over the net here on purpose to hit that barrel):

But remember, if it wasn't for those big uglies, the QBs wouldn't have time to throw:

Jake schooled Merling today:

And that sled never stood a chance:

But, can we get Murphy some water?:

And they did actually manage to line up... somewhat:

They also ran out the running backs:

Hilliard certainly left it all out on the field:

But let's be honest, the kickers found plenty of time to talk:

Sadly, not everyone is able to practice like they want to quite yet (Lehan still in shorts):

By the end of practice, guys were worn out, can you blame them?:

Even the coach needed a breather:

Overall, I was impressed with the wide-outs today, but part of that is because they were the group who practiced in front of the stands. Ginn dropped a few today, and Bess continued to look good. I will wager they find a spot on the roster for Bess. The question is, is how many WRs will they carry on the roster? 5 or 6? (Ginn, Wilford, Hagan, Camarillo, Bess, ?)

Most of the work was done on the far field today, I think to maybe hide the QB situation, since no one looked all that sharp. Beck was the only one, that I noticed, who still was holding the ball too long, as was getting "buzzed" quite a bit. Josh probably looked the best under center when facing a defense, and John and Chad looked better than him in drills, IMHO.

The running back situation seems solid, it seems like we may have some good depth there with Ronnie, Ricky, Parmele, and maybe Hillard. Once again, how many will they eventually carry?

The defense stayed on the far end of the field most of the day, so it is hard to say what is going on with them. Lehan was still in shorts, doing agility drills.

Long looked good in O-line drills. And Merling looked good against mostly everyone except Long. Donald Thomas worked with the other 1st team O-Liners quite a bit from what I noticed. I think we will figure out how our lines are progressing this weekend, since I expect us to be run heavy, and Tampa doesn't exactly air it out themselves.
