we only get first dibs on players with 4 years or less experience, so i don't know how many "big names" in that category there will be to claim off waivers. i don't really foresee us getting into any bidding wars for "big name" free agents (even though we have the money if there is somebody we have a conviction on), but i can see us raiding other teams practice squads once they are set and putting those guys on our 53 man roster. at this stage of the game i fully expect the bottom third of the roster to be in constant flux as they take a look at players that might be able to help us now or in the future.

We need more depth in the trenches, it is the biggest reason we have been AS BAD as we have been recently. Granted our QBs haven't been great, but if we had a decent line we would not have been as bad.
Now our line is improving, but we need depth to make sure one injury wont screw our season completely. |

We were fine in preseason, we didn't treat them like reg season games like Miami did but we accomplished what we needed to. We'll see what happens next Sunday.

I would also include the NY Giants on your list of teams. They are stacked at receiver and something is going to have to give. There have even been questions as to whether or not they would cut Manningham. If you are looking for someone to step up and make a prediction I will say that something happens today with Sinorice Moss. How great would that be to have two young burners at WR to pair with our future stud at QB?

I also think we will be looking for a stud blocking TE. And if you are looking for loaded teams at one position you have to look at Tampa at the QB position. No way they can keep all those guys. I would kinda like to keep Beck but if there is an upgrade out there like maybe Chris Simms or someone I wouldnt be opposed to that either. Guess we will know alot more by either the end of the day or by Monday at least. |

It has been reported that Minnesota is going to cut Martin Nance, a 6'4" WR who has been extremely impressive in the pre season. He would definitely be an upgrade. They also have been rumored to cut two good young LBs, Rufus Alexander and David Herron.

i assume it works the same as fantasy football.... if you claim someone off the waiver wire you fall to the bottom of the ladder in terms of following claims.
True / False? |

Will NE pick up one of our guys this year? None so far, very strange. I bet they`re eyeing one or two and waiting for us to cut the guy(s).

I don't think so... We have the first right of selection/refusal on ALL players as they tumble down the waiver wire... "Problem" is, if we take a player we have to waive a player for roster room. Once the rooks and very limited action vets (something like 3 active games) clear waivers they can be signed onto the practice squad.
