I think your preconceptions of Will Allen has clouded your view of his abilities. No CB who has been successful in the NFL relies strictly on speed, not even Deion Sanders or Darryl Green. There's a lot techniques involved and there are a lot of players faster than Allen who never amount to anything.

Al Harris of the Packers made the Pro Bowl at 33 so I say Allen has atleast that long or when his next contract expires.

fair enough. technique obviously plays into it. i personally wouldn't want to give allen anything more than a 2 year deal after this year unless i could release him after that with minimal cap implications.

al harris is also very physical with his jam and very strong. doesn't rely on speed as much as allen but to each his own.

the only preconception i have about will allen is that he's not an elite top corner in the game and i stand by that.

will allen IMO would be a fantastic #2 CB for several more years . . . he is a decent #1, and that is only going to decrease as he gets older. I like Will Allen a lot . . . but u can't seriously throw him a boatload of money at age 30 . . . he is a shorter CB who just doesn't make the big INT . . . he has good coverage skills and is extremely fast . . . he also is playing the run quite well and gets physical. I would not mind throwing the kid from Oakland next to him . . . that would be a sick CB tandem.

Although ronnie is already good, if he could play a full season he would be great
