Some hope for our CBs?

I don't know if this article has been posted. If not at least it's some good news about our secondary. What do you think?

I think the guy is sugar coating an obvious need for this team. As they say, Rome wasn't built in a day. We couldn't fix everything with one off season. Without JT, we will definetly have to come up with some blitz schemes to protect these guys.

The truth is, the secondary isn't as bad as people like you think it is.
The coaching last yr was bad and it reflected in the entire defense.
In fact, it reflected in the entire team.

Lehan and Allen really played very well . . . and Goody was hurt but he had a nice 2006 campaign . . . Daniels looked awful at times to me . . . but as a #3 or 4 guy, I think he is a good option. My thing is, we don't have any YOUNG solid CB's . . . I mean 22 or 23 years old . . . and thats y I was pushing hard for one in the draft. The position definitely needs to be addressed next year in the draft.

conditioning! this team folded in the second half of games last year. partly because the offense was so terrible, the defense was constantly on the field, but mostly because they entire team was poorly conditioned. this also led to so many guy getting hurt. its the first thing Parcells addressed and why he was so pissed JT didn't show up for the Mini's/OTA's. Numerous players have mentioned that this has been the most grueling off season they have ever had. we will see a big improvement in tempo and backbone from this team and it will get them wins late in games, games we lost last year.

Randy Moss absolutely obliterated our db's to the point of it being laughable. Hopefully the new regime can correct this otherwise he will have a field day for at least 2 games this season

Allen is a pro bowl ready CB, he dropped 8 int's last. Had he caught them he would have had 9 INT's. couple that with 2 sacks (A plethora of QB pressues, 13 passes defensed and 62 tackles and he is pro bowl garuanteed.

Well Moss also broke the TD record for WR's . . . so him getting the best of our DB's is not so suprising . . . he gets the best of just about any DB he goes up against. Moss is a stud, defenses must change when you go up against a guy like that . . . and I'm not sure the regime last year understood that. I mean I would have had Jason Allen . . . ready or not . . . in that game from the beginning . . . he is clearly the only guy that comes close to being athletically able to keep up with Randy . . . having Worrell and Hill on Moss . . . we were set up for failure against him.

i think w allen and goodman are solid. they aren't exactly madison and surtain, but they will do - especially in the 3-4 - for next year anyway. lehan gets pushed around too much for my liking but he did progress last year. daniels is pretty much useless unfortunately, so that sucks for us.

Its safe to say If Rice had played those 4 games he definately would still have the TD record.

If Allen could just hang on to the damn INT's, I think we could mention him in the same sentence as Madison and Surtain. He dropped 8 last year, 8.. Imagine if he caught all of those 8 INT's giving him 9 on the season (I think the most Surtain ever had in 1 year was 7 and 8 for Madison-Imagine Will Allen had a better single season INT record than Madison or Surtain... Wow), we definately wouldnt have gone 1-15

allen had a great year last year. his best. but the problem is it was at the age of 30. i hope he keeps getting better, but his age is gonna catch up with him sooner rather than later. but i think he will be very good for the next 2 years and then production and talent will drop off quickly.

and you are right - those 8 picks would have been helpful in those close losses.

will allen pro bowl??? come on now.

will allen is a solid #2 cb on most teams. we don't have a true #1 cb.
goodman and lehan are better suited as nickle and dime cbs but due to our lack of talent are asked to play 1 skill level up from where they should be.

daniels should be working a 9 to 5

will allen did have a very good year last year.

cb is in dire need of talent upgrades next offseason.
