Wilson was signed by the Rams shortly after we cut him.
Thanks for the update. Nice P/U, let's hope the knee is 100% as his agent says.

LOL @ Mandarich.

A part of me was hoping it was Thaddeus Coleman, but I think he might be on a roster right now.

Ok, if it's Sosa, I really had no idea he was that big. I watched the practice highlights, his arms look really long. If possible, I'm even higher on Sosa than I was before, seeing him stand next to our players and look that big. Funny how that works, sometimes. People say that about Donald Thomas too...looks big and strong...even though coming out of the draft one of the reasons he fell was because he's "only" about 6'4" and 305 pounds.

Interesting. We do need a backup tackle. But I wonder if this is too late to really make the team. Possibly will, then be cut when an OT is waived by another team, and signed to the PS. Just a guess though.

Ya, Donald Thomas looks like an absolute beast, reminds me a bit of Derrick Dockery size and look wise. Maybe its the 66, i dont know.

Coleman was signed by the Cardinals but he's since been cut.

No worse than the team's current backup tackles, since they aren't very good.

I am dissapointed that he was signed so late but I am glad we did! Here's to hoping that he stands up and gets noticed... in a good way that is.

With the starters likely to sit on Thursday, he will likely get A LOT of time playing against the Saints.

I wouldn't count him out of making the 53 man roster. We are REALLY thin on the line, and although we will likely add another Tackle once final cuts happen, I think they like him too much. They really wanted to sign him in early July, but apparently his knee was not ready yet. Now it appears to be OK.

From what I have gathered, before the injury he was projected anywhere between round 3 and 6. Could develop into a nice backup if given time.

Taken from NFL.com...

Overview
A three-year starter at left tackle, Sosa makes up for a lack of dominant size with quickness, balance and surprising power. Shorter than scouts would prefer and possessing a narrow frame better suited inside at guard or center, Sosa could be a second-day find for a team looking for a versatile sixth man.

High School
Regarded as one of the top linemen in the state (and was ranked as the top offensive lineman in the state by the McCarthy Report as a senior) ... Possesses an athletic build with long arms, including an 83-inch wingspan ... Did not allow a sack in two seasons as a starter ... Ranked as the 16th-best player in New Jersey, and third-best offensive lineman, by Super Prep Magazine ... Earned First Team All-State honors from the Star Ledger as a senior ... Was also a First Team All-Hudson County pick by the Star Ledger, Jersey Journal and the Hudson County Football Coaches Association ... Named the Hudson County Football Coaches Association Offensive Lineman of the Year... Named to the NJ Super-100 ... Also had 111 tackles and eight sacks on defense ... Was an All-Hudson County (Third Team) pick as a junior ... Played basketball at Union Hill as a junior, where he averaged a double-double (12 ppg, 10 rpg).

The NFL combine numbers had him 6'4", 296lbs. I hope he's healthy from the knee injury, and ready to eat--because we don't need any shrimps on our OL.
