Exactly like I said. Hasn't eclipsed 400 yards once. Not even 1,000 yards for his career in 4 seasons.

So, I ask again. Why would you want him?
Because he averages a TD for every 8 receptions

That's funny, because I think you missed the part where it says that's over 4 years in a reserve, backup role. I guess I'm the only one who notices the 72 receptions over 4 seasons. And if he was that good, why isn't he at least the #3?

Again, I'm not disregarding the thought that he could be good. Just not as optimistic, like I said before, as most in this thread are. If it doesn't take big money, by all means I'm all for it.

I've bolded an important part of your link, as it relates to your argument.

Year Team G GS Rec Yds Avg Lg TD 20+ 40+ 1st
2003 Cincinnati Bengals 16 3 22 299 13.6 51 4 4 1 16
2004 Cincinnati Bengals 16 2 31 378 12.2 28 3 4 0 19
2005 Cincinnati Bengals 7 0 10 101 10.1 18 1 0 0 7
2006 Cincinnati Bengals 5 1 9 115 12.8 22 1 1 0 7
TOTAL 44 6 72 893 12.4 51 9 9 1 49

Can't fault the guy too much for not getting the yards if he didn't start. He (probably) wouldn't cost a lot of money, and would be a decent acquisition. Time will tell.

He was the #3 much of the time. He's been behind Chad Johnson/T.J. Houshmandzadeh or Johnson/Warrick for most of his career. Doesn't mean he's an all-world talent and nobody recognized it, but it doesn't mean he's awful, either.

People seem to be under the assumption that the only reason Washington hasn't flourished is because he was stuck behind 2 prime receivers in Cincy.

In truth, the guy has a ton of talent, but he also has lapses in concentration and doesn't run his routes very well. There's also questions about how hard he wants to work to improve himself.

Think about it. If being behind those receivers was his only problem he still would have had much better statistics in that offense.

He has talent and he would add depth, also he is a burner from what I hear.

Were visiting with Stallworth today, so maybe if we don't sign Stallworth we will sign Washington.

He started a total of 6 games, but he's played in 44.

Did you guys forget about Chris Henry? Again, I don't mind bringing him in, just not if it decreases the chances of us (a) drafting a WR or (b) acquiring Stallworth, who, yes, I rather have.

In its search for a big-play receiver, Miami could meet with Philadelphia's Donte Stallworth as early as today. Talks with Cincinnati receiver Kelley Washington are expected to resume today, a source said.

Washington is a cheap boom or bust WR prospect. If Cam thinks he can get Kelley to focus on the game, then the Dolphins could have a very good player on their hands, since has the physical tools to dominate. If he can't, well, we didn't spend much on him and he'll be out of the league.

The biggest problem at UT was his ego. As long as he was 'da Man!', he ran sharp routes, made incredible catches, and ran over DBs like a RB. When he was the 3rd or 4th WR at Cinn, he got sloppy. Maybe he's finally grown up some... One could hope.

Rumors has it that he has been offered a contract

with 28 td's in those 5 years...and that is being injured a decent ammount of the time. Chambers has 36 touchdowns over that same time period, but has played in every game i believe.
Rumors has it that Kelly Washington has already been offered a contract by the Dolphins, pending the outcome of Stallworths visit. Stallworths agent says he expects to have a deal completed by Friday night. It is reported that New England has already offered Stallworth a deal. There is also reports that Washington is now in New England talking to them just in case we sign Stallworth.

It appears that the Dolphins and New England might be fighting over the same free-agents and draft picks (safety and WR). It will be interesting to see who wins out.

Washington is WR priority #2 after Stallworth.

Stallworth isn't signed anywhere yet, so he has to wait.

thats the thing washington can put chambers in the slot also because you can line im up in 3 wr sets on the outside and chambers in the slot with a small guy like welker who doesnt get much seperation you couldnt. But washington wil be a hard matchup for a corner on the outside. 5'11 190 vs 6'3 225 thats dificult to cover i think we should stay away from stalworth hes not worth the money he wants plus theres the whole drug thing.
