Who would you rather have on this years team? Welker & Chambers? or Satele & Henne

As much as they deserve criticism for of lots of blunders, I think two of the most scrutinized moves by last year's regime will pay great dividends for the Fins in the long-run. Trading away the two top receivers has hopefully netted our team the QB of the future as well as a center to snap him the ball for the next 10 years...

The more I think about it, Randy seems to have done a decent job, while Cam couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag.

Do you think the Fins are better off with or without those two trades?

Of course.. It is a lot harder to find a very good young center and a future QB for the next 10 years than it is to find a receiver of Chambers' caliber

However Randy wouldn't have drafted Henne, because we have Beck. I am not sure who Randy had his eyes on when he traded chambers...

But to answer your question. Satele & Henne. I just wish we had Henne throwing the ball to Welker & Chambers while being protected by Satele...

Would I rather have a bum and a slot receiver over a franchise qb and center?

Setele and Henne will do a lot more for this team than the other...what were their names again?

I think Welker for Satele is a no brainer. While I think Welker would be great for us with Pennington, I would take Satele any day.

Chambers for Henne....? I don't know, we'll see. I wasn't all the impressed with Chambers. I used to be a big fan, but after his Pro-bowl he went downhill for us. He dropped too many balls for a #1 receiver. Was it a good trade to get henne though? We'll have to wait and see.

I hope Henne will pan out, but nobody knows. He's looked good early in camp and the first 2 games, but he also completed 2-7 for 14 yds and an INT against the CHIEFS. We shut them out and that's all that henne could manage? But as I have said for Beck, QBs need time in the league. I'll pass judgement on Chambers for Henne in a couple years.

Lets look at each trade individually :

Welker for a 2nd round pick(Samson Satele) and a 7th round pick(Abraham Wright):

Lets first point out the most obvious thing about this trade. The 7th round pick, Wright, amounted to nothing and is no longer in the NFL. Though, that shouldn't hit anybody as a HUGE surprise, since picks in the 7th round are rarely succesful. Occasionally will you hit gold on a starter or find a decent backup. Most don't last long and just fizzle out.

Samson Satele came in last season and became an instant starter at center. He has the potential to be the starting center for this team for the next decade. Without a good line in the NFL, your running game and passing game will struggle, no matter who you have at the skill positions.

I truely believe Wes Welker would not have had a huge year like he did if remained with the Dolphins. The fact that Welker had the best QB in the NFL throwing to him and that fact that Randy Moss was also on the field made things easy for him. You put Welker on any other team in the league besides the Patriots, and I think he is an average receiver who gets maybe 50 catches in the season.

Despite Wright fizzling out way to early, I think Miami made out better on this trade. They got a guy who will be a fixture on the offensive line for many many years.

Chris Chambers for a 2nd round pick(Chad Henne):

I liked Chambers and thought he made the most amazing catches. However, he would also drop the easy ones. I also hated the fact that everytime he dropped a ball or just didn't give that extra effort he would raise his hand in the air and shake his wrist looking for a flag.

He is a very good receiver and will be a big part of San Diego's success. He will never be an elite receiver, but he will be a very good one. San Diego is on the verge of a trip to the Super Bowl, we are rebuilding. Chambers is 30 years old this season, so by the time we will be up there for a trip to a possible Super Bowl, he will be 33 or 34 years old.

Chad Henne has showed great promise in the preseason and training camp. I think he will prove to be the next long term starter at QB for the Dolphins.

So, in conclusion, I think both trades were good for the future of this franchise.

That's why I think we are better off with Satele and Henne. Our future.

Satele and Henne are our future Pro Bowlers. Chambers is garbage and Welker couldn't be kept.

The question of who you would rather have on this years team is easy IMO. I would without a doubt say Chambers and Welker. This is assuming they are only here for 1 season.

If the question was... Who would you rather have on the fins? I would without hesitation say Henne and Satele. This is assuming they will be here longterm.

Well since we all know we sucked with Welker and Chambers, Id rather try Satele and Henne and see where we are at in 3 years.

Satele and Henne.

In the state we are in now, we are better off with future value then right now value.
Plus Chambers(while I was/am a fan) is very overated.
