There are a few things IMO we need to do. First, run the ball run the clock, keep the ball out of Favre's hands. Second, get pressure with our front line, with a timely blitz every once in a while. If we constantly have to blitz to get pressure, it's gonna be ugly. Last, score TD's instead of FG's. Something tells me we are going to score about the same amount of times, the loser will be the team that settles for FG's.

I actually think it's the opposite for Favre. He has a Lot to prove and he will be trying to do everything he possibly can to win. My hope is that he gets so desperate to make plays that he makes some bad throws into coverage under duress, and we get a few turnovers off of him.

I'm a Jets fan, have always been one. But here's why the Jets will lose to you guys:

1. They absolutely MUST win this game. With NE and San Diego looming, there will be huge pressure on them to win against the 1-15 Fins lest they start the season 0-3.

2. Their leader is a first-ballot HoF QB with nothing left to prove. He won't have enough heart in this game as the Fins.

3. The weather will play heavily in Miami's favor.

4. The Fin's rushing attack will dominate vs. the Jets' rush, opening up the field to Pennington's play action.

5. Talent-wise the Jets have the better team. But this is a new season, everyone is 0 and 0, the Fins will be on national stage with a huge chip on their shoulder and red hot to come off to a good start after being a 1-15 laughing stock. They will be pumped and ready to hit hard. I'm not saying the Jets won't be, but my bets are on the Fins to push themselves harder because they will want this game more.

6. These are the Jets. They ALWAYS find a way to lose the big ones.

7. Finally, you guys have Chad at the helm, and he will exploit every weakness he can find. I hate to say it, but he is the one QB I do not want to have to face, ever. He's smart, confident, accurate, and he knows exactly where the Jets are weak. He doesn't often make mistakes and he will use every strength the Fins have and bring the max out of them. He will want to beat the Jets badly.

The good news? I can bet on the Fins to win and ease the pain. Because this one is going to hurt.

Prediction: Fins win 31-28.

You aren't fooling anybody, we know you aren't a Jet fan. I don't know why I am wasting my time responding but I'm in a plauyful mood right now.

1. I can agree w/ #1, we need to win w/ 2 good teams coming up the next 2 weeks.

2. This is as asinine as it gets. Favre has nothing to prove and doesn't want to win?

3. The weather MAY play a factor.

4. We'll see about this. Ronnie is still banged up and Ricky has barebly played in years plus they have a rebuilt OL against our much improved D. If Miami is going to win they will need to control this game on the ground.

5. It's NOT a National stage, it will be the game that goes out to most of the Country but it's still a regional broadcast.

6. Week 1 is NOT a true big game and we've won a hell of alot more big games the last 10 years or so than Miami has.

7. Let's be honest, no one has defended Chad more than I have through the years but he doesn't fit your description anymore. pre-surgery yes but not now. IF healthy he's still good but nothing more than good and the description you gave is oif a great player.

There is no way Miami is scoring 31 points on us.

I have a hard time believing you're a Jets fan with a statement like that.

So NE and SD are automatic losses? I guess we should just forfeit those games to avoid any injuries. Obviously we're underdogs, but they aren't automatic losses. No one knows the real status of Brady's health, the Chargers are pretty banged up and any given Sunday ...

The fans may consider it a must win but in reality it's not. The fanbase will probably over react and go nuts if we lose. Would it suck, yeah absolutely, but you can't get eliminated from the playoffs in week 1. Hello?

You obviously don't know anything about Favre if you really believe this nonsense.

If it's hot and muggy, which it likely will be, it gives the fins an advantage because they're used to the heat. Both teams have to deal with it though. I agree with you the weather is an advantage.

Maybe, the fins have 2 very good backs and it looks like their o-line is pretty good at run blocking. Again, this kind of statement doesn't sound like something a Jet fan would say. You say their run game WILL DOMINATE? OK Jet fan. But how can you be so sure? We'll see what happens.

The Jets were 4-12 last year right? Do you think they may have something to prove too? I don't see how the fins will want it more. Why would they want the win more than the Jets?

This is a bunch of bs.

I didn't realize this was the divisional round of the playoffs.

You don't want to face him because you love him or because you're scared of his skills more than any other QB in the league? If it's the latter you obviously lack good judgement.

Way to go JET FAN.

Please tell me how Miami is going to stop Keller & Baker seam routes while Cotchery and Coles are on the outside? Seriously.

Awesome accomplishment for Finheaven. There are 3 different Jets fans fighting each other about their own team on a Dolphins website. Oooooo Yeaaahhhhh. They are turning on each other already.

Interesting.

Junc and I have both said we're worried about this game. I don't know where you get that bs from.

I'm going to go out on a little bit of a limb here and say the orginial poster is not a Jets fan, at least not before 2000 or after we traded for Favre anyway.

I'd be lying if I thought this will be a very easy game for the Jets to win; it probably won't. Division games are always tough due to the teams knowing each other so well and I always believe in "Any Given Sunday". Now I fully expect the Jets to win when this is all said and done, but it should be a good and close game.

By the way, I believe Favre has a ton to prove and he has plenty of motivation. He's a competitor who wants to show the Packers and the NFL not to count him out. Judging by what we have seen so far, Favre is a big upgrade at the QB position over what we had recently, as he can make all the throws Chad cannot make. The Jets have already said they have changed the signals and signs due to Chad being on a rival now. I believe the Jets' pass-rush will get to Chad and he'll make mistakes.

Yes, the Jets don't have the easiest schedule before the bye, but we're pretty much due to beat the Pats at home for once and now we believe we have the pass-rush to slow them down, and we always seem to play the Chargers, who will probably be without Merriman and a gimpy Rivers, well.

I think this opening game will be the best in the league and really looking forward to this. Jets-Dolphins is a great rivalry.
