Cba

I heard on the sports radio (620 WDAE) in Tampa that a CBA has been agreed on with some minor wrinkles to work out. During the piece, they stated that the projected cap for this year would increase to approximately 112 million. That's a huge increase, which would lead me to think that we might be out of the biding for Brees and many other FA. With such an increase, I can see SD paying the money to keep him. Has anyone heard any additional info on this matter?

PFT says the same thing. It is basicly done and that it should be announced soon. They just need to work some minor details out(like you said).

You are right about the cap also. With a new CBA, it will be over $100 million. I don't think it will be $112 million, but more like $105 million.

Don't look at the increase cap space as a negative towards signing big time Free Agents like Brees. Without a CBA, we wouldn't be able to get much of anything in free agency. Believe me, we can get Brees if we want him.

This could help us in many ways, especially when it comes time to resign players to long term or restructuring contracts of existing players.

Exactly. A new CBA is the best possible thing for the Dolphins. Now it will be easier to get maybe two or three really big time free agents and still have money to re-sign players like Schulters and Morris.
