Well unless your banks address is in southern Cal they'll just cancel it. Now who living out east will have their bank located in southern Cal?

We are not talking about providing 50% of the seating to be availible for sales to visiting teams fans here but I don't see anything wrong with allowing perhaps a few thousand seats to be sold to the visitors. You know home field advantage is much more than the so called 12 man because if it really was all about the fan none of these teams would win on the road. Home field advantage allows the team to sleep in their own beds and really keep on their regular routine. They don't have to break up their practice week early to allow for flight time, stay in hotels or have to deal with any changes in water or diet, so in essence they should be more rested than the traveling team. I agree with the other poster that said the 12 man is really given too much credit and hype as far as their actual effectiveness to change the out come of a game. In this case the chargers pulled this same bs last year yet the steelers still went out there and ate their lunch.

Whats the big deal? So u have to be a resident, so what? There are thousands of Patriots fans in California, they can get tickets. How many Pats fans were going to take vacation from work and fly to Cal for a game? A few hundred maybe? This is a non issue. Im sure all of you would be complaining if the Phins did this and you got tickets, right? Take care of your hometown fans, take care of the taxpayers that subsidize you game and stadiums. I dont see why the NFL would have a issue with this.

Well there are pats fans all over the US some just outside of Southern Cal such as Nevada,Colorado even northern Cal that could attend, i'm not just talking about people from the NE area. So we'll look at it as you say whats the big deal if a few hundred pats fans are shut out...That makes me wonder if we're only talking a few hundred what is the chargers org so worried about. I mean how bad could could a couple of hundred NE fans hurt the so called home field advantage? Are they planning on suiting up some of these 12th men? Those who take care of their stadiums are the season ticket holders who I'm sure will be there anyway. NE has played more than a few home playoff games over the last five years and it has never been the policy of the Pats org to shut out fans of the visiting team....Last season this same chargers org in an effort to shut out steelers fans said they had to by tickets to three chargers games to be able to by a ticket to the chargers home playoff game with the steelers...Must be enough ponied up the cash for the three game ticket scam so this year they decided to make it much harder to get a ticket but the sother Cal address verification required.

It all just seems very slimey and low class to me but thats just me.

Want to bet this catches on and New England and everyone else is doing this soon? It seems to me just a way to make sure more fans of the home team get seats, seems pretty fair to me. The San Diego fans keep the team there, they make the city the money, not New England fans.

You're probably right but I guess I look at it differently. With the current CBA the high revenue teams are forced to share revenues with the smaller market lower revenue teams so in reality the NE fans who I would add pay some of the highest ticket prices in the league ARE subsidizing some of these teams just as the rest of the large market teams. The wealth in the NFL is in essence pooled in such ways that I can see some of the larger market teams take offense to such practices as this. If you were one of these large market owners wouldn't it piss you off to see your teams fans shut out from a playoff game especially when its to a team that you had to share part of your revenues with? (im not sayin that is the case here but it could be i'm not sure) It would me and I'm sure this isn't going to sit well with the Kraft family. I don't believe this can be something the league can just turn a blind eye to because if they do where does it end..eventually teams will not sell tickets to visiting teams fans during the regular season too. Is this really the way the NFL wants its business to run...I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Doesnt matter tickets are sold out. I tried to get some with no luck.

In regards to being fair the Chargers won the right to host the game so they can do it if they want. That why its called HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE.

Either let every team do it or don't let any team do it. Simple as that.

It isn't like their wont be any Pats fans there. Unless you tell me that at the gate, anyone seen wearing Pats stuff will be thrown in jail, then the Pats will have some fans there

Frank, the Patriots fan, said she doesn't think the hometown ticket restriction will do the Chargers any good because the Patriots play so well on the road. The team this season is 7-1 away from home

Wait WTF?

Anyway this only hurts the Chargers organization, you lose money.

It seems like a shady practice, but they can deny tickets to anyone they choose. It's their money. Isn't it hard enough to get playoff tickets? I'm sure they're sold out in hours if not minutes after they go on sale, so you'd have to buy them from a ticket broker anyway.

This reminds me of what the casinos in Vegas do if you win too much. As far as NV is concerned, it's a right to refuse services act, maybe this is something similar?
