Chargers sign L.J. Sheltonhttp://chargers.com/news/press-relea...e-20080429.php
Hi I'm a Chargers fan looking for information on Shelton. We signed him as our primary LT/RT backup today because we had no depth at the position but I don't really know anything about him. So I decided to come ask the guys who know best. What kind of guy was he? Is he getting old after 10 years or is he still a solid veteran pickup? Was he cut by Parcells for salary cap/rebuilding reasons or was h an underachiever? By the way, best of luck for next season. Jake Long looks like a fantastic selection

if you could play him at guard he could be solid, he sucks at LT and is adequete at RT. i think he is a solid pickup for you guys if you paid him low.

Better guard than tackle. Decent player, struggles in pass protection.

I agree with above, as a guard he is serviceable, but if u need him to play extended games at Tackle, start prayin' SD fans lol...

Eek. Hope we didn't pay much for him then.
Before signing him we had our starting LT/RT plus a practice squad guy plus this year's seventh round pick.. so pretty much no depth at tackle. He'll be our primary backup and if anybody goes down, he'll be playing at tackle. *fingers crossed* hope our guys remain healthy then. Does he at least play hard and have a good attitude about it? Or is he one of those fat slobs that you see way too often playing OL? |

well his M.O. as a Cardinal was a fat slob who never fulfilled his potential honestly...with us he was pretty decent as a guard...maybe he'll play better with u guys...i hope for the best :-)
