Chris Henry NEEDS to be signed

Ginn is our number 1 and hes not gonna cut it, hes more of a number 2 or slot guy

Wilford, who I was all for, is really dissapointing. I dont think he will be cut simply bc of his past production and his salary

Hagan is a overhyped. Another year, same problems.

Kirkus should make this team.

Bess should make this team.

Foster is looking to be a dissapointment and seems to be too small.

So with all that said, we need to sign Chris Henry to a one year, low salary, incentive-laden deal..This should allow him to hopefully start over, build a new reputation... And if he acts up, cutting him wont cost much. I've always been against this guy but we need an infusion of talent NOW or else Pennington, Henne, Beck, or Mccown are all going to struggle.

Chris Henry should only be signed if we can have a private investigator follow him 24/7

I agree 100% w/your entire post. This guy is a beast, but can he be controlled? Like you said though, 1 year deal while making it clear that he's out his 1st F___ up, could keep him in check. Even w/all the talent around C.Johnson & Housh, he was a fast deep threat.

Now w/all that said, there's no way Pennington & Henry make the highlight reels, because I don't think Chad has any bombs left in him.

Please no.

I trust Parcells to think with his head on this one.

Chris Henry does not need to be signed. There wil be WRs on the waiver wire, good recievers who were on teams that were deep at the position, when teams start their cutdowns.

No thanks. He's 1 mistake away from a 12 month ban. Not worth the trouble.

I agree.. We need to remember that we have the FIRST pick option on ANY cut as we were the worst team last season.. So if any player gets cut when they trim their rosters down to 53, we have First Dibs on the player.. That is great, and you can be rest assured that Parcells is going to use that to the best of his advantage.. We will probably add 5 or 6 decent players on the waiver wire when teams have their cuts..

Now, keep in mind that it isn't just about teams that may have depth at a certain position.. But let's say a team has a good 4 WR tandem but no real solid backups, and let's say that team loses a very good starting LB through injury...... Now it may be worth it to that team to cut one of their top 4 or 5 WR's to sign TWO LB's just so that team can feel secure at the LB spot and sacrifice the receiver position... Who knows why, but maybe that team puts a lot of emphasis on their defense (and linebackers)..

So it isn't just about a team cutting players at a position of depth, because I have seen serviceable players cut despite that every year.. There is a lot of shuffling around and lineup juggling going on when teams have their cuts.. Because of injuries, salary cap purposes, and other reasons..

I am just happy that we will have first dibs on players.. We will pluck a few serviceable players.. I have a lot of condidence in PArcells and Ireland to get it done and make sound decisions when it comes to the waiver wire before the season starts.. Much more confidence than I had for the morons who ran this outfit last season..

If Foster is "too small" somebody better tell Darren Sproles to get off the field in San Diego and the frig outta the NFL, but quick! (Translation: measure a man by what you don't see, not by what you do...)

mandal24 didn't say cut him because he's too small, he said he looks like a dissapointment AND SEEMS TO BE TOO SMALL.

Big difference.

I was really pulling for Foster to make the team, he played DII and was the DII player of the year and was awarded the Walter Payton award which is the equivelant of the Heisman on the DII level.

So he can play football, at least on the DII level and certainly small players have excelled in the NFL but I have yet to see Jayson Foster play evidently mandal24 has.

If he is in fact not a NFL type player I imagine he will be a roster cut.

I am wary of Chris Henry too and the fact that no other NFL team has signed him seems to be the whole NFL is waiting.

Henry will miss the 1st 4 games no matter where he goes, so it appears there is time to wait on Henry.

Unfortunately I am also wary of Miami's current recievers, we need another relaible target.

Not necessarily.

Only young players have to go through waivers, veterans do not.

Look at all the UFA signings.. Aside from Pennington, who was released late, they were all under 30.

One of the two young OT's on Dallas who were drafted last year (under Ireland) will probably get cut as they have a lot of linemen.. Look for Miami to nab one of those guys as a backup OT

Have a look at the Rams receivers Greyboy, they have 12 at the moment and have to trim that down to six. Tipping we pick up one of theres when they start cutting
