FinHeaven Community NFL Power Rankings

Hey guys,

I thought it'd be cool to us to have some sort of poll or power rankings, so here's the deal. I'll organize it. After each week, make your rankings (all 32 teams) and post it in this thread, and I will tally up the votes and post the official rankings (I'll also edit the first post with the most recent rankings so it is easy to find). Here are some guidelines though.
  1. Be realistic. I know we all love the Phins and hate the Pats but don't get too outrageous with the rankings. Give a real justification for if you have a team that is significantly higher or lower than expected. If anything is clearly biased, I will not count it.
  2. Rank all 32 teams. Rankings that are missing teams will not be counted.
  3. Post your rankings on Tuesday. I will tally up everything on Wednesday mornings.
The criteria is as follows

1st place vote = 32 pts
2nd = 31 pts
3rd = 30 pts
etc
etc
etc
31st = 2 pts
32nd = 1 pt

As for right now, do some preseason rankings. Post them today or tomorrow and I'll get the preseason rankings posted.

You guys have the Chargers a little overrated IMO. Especially when it looks like they're going to lose Merriman for the season. Rivers still has a ton to prove.

Of course Merriman will be a lose but there is so much more to that defense than just Merriamn. Their D-Line is awesome with Catillo, Williams and Olshansky. Shaun Phillips is a beast and does'nt get the credit he deserves because of Merriman. Wilhelm and Cooper inside are very solid also. CB they have Cromartie and Jammer which is one of the best CB pairings in football. They are though a bit weak at safety with the loss of McCre.

Jury is still out on Rivers as he has yet to perform consistently for the entire regular season but after seeing himself and Vincent Jackson shine in the playoffs I think that partnership will develop even more this sason and not forgeting Chambers and Gates. Also helps when you have LT and newly drafted rookie fullback Jacob Hester in the backfield. O-Line could be slightly suspect this season though and if it is Rivers will have problems.

1 Patriots (I hate them, but but they have to be #1)
2 Cowboys
3 Colts
4 Chargers
5 Steelers
6 Giants
7 Saints
8 Jaguars
9 Eagles
10 Seahawks
11 Vikings
12 Broncos
13 Bills
14 Browns
15 Titans
16 Packers
17 Bucaneers (C. Williams is on the PUP list, otherwise they would be #12)
18 Panthers
19 Redskins
20 Texans ( I can see them surprise a LOT of people this season)
21 Jets
22 Lions
23 Ravens
24 Cardinals
25 Rams
26 Bengals
27 Bears
28 Dolphins
29 49ers
30 Raiders
31 Chiefs
32 Falcons

It may be to late, but I cant help myself.

I put the bills at 13. I know, im a bills fan, but I do not believe the teams listed after the bills will win more than 9 games.

Fins at 28. I just do not see them winning that many games. Pennington is an upgrade, but the Jets threw him away. He wont be leading you to the playoffs or anything. Also, there are many more holes to fill. They are just missing the tallent to move up the list.
