Giants kick themselves, fall to Seattle in OT

The Seattle Seahawks survived a huge NFC challenge Sunday — barely.

Giants kicker Jay Feely missed three field goals, including two in overtime, and Seattle’s Josh Brown hit a 36-yarder as the conference-leading Seahawks outlasted New York 24-21.

Feely failed on the final play of regulation from 40 yards, then couldn’t hit from 54 and 45 yards in the extra session. Seattle used a 38-yard pass from Matt Hasselbeck to D.J. Hackett to get close for Brown.

That was a pretty exciting game to watch the end of. Big plays both ways late in the game. Shockey had a long reception that was reviewed & brought back 16 yards making it 4th & long for the G-Men instead of giving them a first down. Feely subsequently missed the 50 yarder.

Having watched that game the giants were by far the better team the miss that really cost them was the 40 yarder at the end of regulation

nice heading lol....

You have to feel for Feeley though, the Giants weren't exactly helping with some of their play calls to put him in position to make the kicks. Holmgren showed me how good of a coach he was when he annihalated Coughlin mentally in that OT. Feeley had missed 3 kicks all year coming into that game, and he missed 3 in the OT/Last minute of regulation. But the Giants are the Giants, and New York is New York so with the dearest sympathy in my heart......
