I (heart) Philip Rivers

And we didn't even hear about this -- nor was it reported...but DAMN.

--------------------------------------------------

SAN DIEGO -- Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers said Monday that he had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee a week ago in order to play in the AFC Championship Game, and that he'll need surgery on the torn anterior cruciate ligament in the same joint.
Rivers made it through Sunday's 21-12 loss to the perfect New England Patriots despite the damage to his knee, which he sustained in an upset win over the Indianapolis Colts a week earlier.
Rivers said he'd like to have surgery as soon as possible on the torn ACL.

Crazy huh? I remember the year he was in the draft I wanted us to trade up and get him...I called him a top 10 talent, there was A LOT of people here saying he wouldn't go until the 3rd round

He's a baller, always has been, that's what caught me attention when he was at NCState.

The worst part about this week is the mis-characterization (if that's a word) of PR.

I never get upset at the media because it's their (our) job to 'piss' people off. But to be soo completely wrong is WRONG. He is the last thing from being classless, a jerk, or whiney.

I love this kid. Heck, he almost beat New England with NO legs.

Crazy...love the attitude.

Hmm..I wonder why I love Marino so much. lol. ;-) just saying...

If San Diego could have punched those FGs into TDs, it would have been their game. It was a close game, New England didn't dominant by any means.

Rivers delivery is painful to watch. I respect his toughness but would hate to watch that slow motion delivery and weak arm on a weekly basis.

i like phillip rivers a lot. I am a lucky one and got to watch his final cfb game. he completely destroyed i believe it was kansas st. hes a hell of a talent and has a lot of pride as shown in that article. i praise him for playing on basically one leg that game. It shows the toughness between him and LT. LT said he was 90% healthy and would play before the game but only played two drives where phillip rivers played the whole game .

Right and IF brady hadn't gotten picked in the EZ the Pats would have beaten them by even more. Funny thing IF your use the word IF enough All your dreams could be true.

Now LT the wuss said he took himself out because he firgured a 100% Michael Turner was better than a 50% LT. Saturday he said he was 90% but I guess the three short gain plays he was in on took 40& of that away.

I can't stand Mr class and all day when the camera focused on LT there he sat hiding behind his dark sun visor sitting on the bench. Not once did i see him stand up on the sidelines and cheer his teammates on. He probably figured how he wasn't playing there was no way the chargers had a chance of winning so no need to waste his time coaching up his team. What a little puke.

I never once thought that NE was threatened in that game and to say almost beat us is a joke. Even with all the gift picks Brady threw SD couldn't get into the EZ once.

I'd hate to say it, but I gotta go with MR. Troll on this one.

Dude, it's possible he has the fastest delivery in the game since Marino. While he does throw goofy, he has a lightening quick release, and a hell of an arm. It's a HUGE fallacy to say he has a weak arm, it was one of the main arguments used by he detractors leading up the draft. He's got a hell of a zip on the ball, and if you'd watch him he doesn't go deep often, but is full capable of a 40+ yard rocket.

Feels like the draft threads all over again
