No way the 'Phins will give up the first overall for him. Maybe if they involved another team or gave something else. But not the first overall.

These IMO are bad ideas that the old regimes of Dolphins past would entertain if you ask me.

Give up a 1 and a 3 for a one year wonder? It's a good thing Spillman isn't still here cause if ParLand goes for this we just might as well have kept S & W.

I'd rather draft Ryan or Brohm #1 than trade it for Anderson.

It's too big a risk to spend such an amount on Derek Anderson. There aren't many players in the league worth such a high asking price as the 1st overall pick, never mind adding a 3rd round pick on top of that. As Anderson hasn't really proven himself yet (One season does not a career make) he, I feel, would be a foolish purchase for Miami to make at that price. Given the amount of needs on the team, it wouldn't be nearly enough for the price.

Even though I don't think we will but if hypothetical we were to draft Matt Ryan or brohm with the #1 overall and pay him big bucks, I would try to see if the browns would be willing to deal him for our #1 overall. That would be a great move if we were going to draft a QB #1 which I don't think we will.

How about if we did make a trade with Dallas, would we use one of those 1st rounders in the same trade? That would seem a little more palatable than the #1 overall.

1st rounder definitely not....
if anyting i coule see the second 2nd round pick going to Cleveland for Anderson if something was ever going to happen with it... but we's might even get a lower pick from cleveland too in exchange with Anderson |

The 2nd of Dallas first rounders and a third to Cincy for Anderson would be ok, but not our first overall.

First, Anderson is not worth our 1st. If this was his second year with good numbers, that would be worth the #1 pick investment. He's not there, not saying he won't but not willing to gamble this pick on that.
Matt Ryan, is a great college QB but still not a QB like Manning, Elway. Definite #1 picks. We need DL help and with the price of DL sky rocketing, I like Ellis. Granted at first I was a Dorsey supporter until I saw the Senior Bowl. |

If I had the choice of spending the 1st overall pick on one of the 3 quarterbacks mentioned, I would go with Anderson every single time. Derek Anderson is only 2 years older than Ryan and Brohm, and has a much better arm, to go along with better size and athleticism. There's a lot more projectability with Anderson than there is with Ryan and Brohm. The solid season that Anderson had last year also makes him a safer bet. |
