Is it possible for a team to go 20-0?

They would have to be a wild card game meaning 2 other teams would need to be 16-0 as well. I looked at NEs schedule and then picked a random team they didn't play (the broncos) and found that it was not possible in the AFC this year.

So my question would be is it mathmatically possible to have 3 16-0 teams in one conference? Thus leading to a possible 20-0 season?

I know it's a dumb question. I need to get out more.

Regular season (16)+wild card round+divisional round+championship game+super bowl=20

As to the question that was asked...I would imagine that's it's mathematically impossible but I cant be positive.

If you end up playing the first round in the playoffs (wild card) it means you weren't in the top 2 in the division. Therefore, you couldnt have gone 16-0.

true.. because another team in your division should be 16-0 but it would be imposible since you play them twice a year..

the ONLY way would be to have 3 teams that go 16-0 in the same conference but in diferent divisions (AFC east, west and north for example) , so the third team rated lower (because of points scored and points against i guess.. ) would face the wild card team... so it is impossible lol

never will there be 3 teams or more in 1 conference who go 16-0 lol
but it is mathematically possible

No. It is not mathmatically possible.

Since each division in the conference plays every team from another division in the conference....it is impossible for there to be 3 undefeated teams in 1 conference.

Take this year for example....

The AFC East played the entire AFC North. Pats won every game. This means that all the teams in the AFC North have at least 1 loss and every other team in the AFC has at least 2 losses.

and

The AFC South played the entire AFC West...assuming that the Colts won all their games (you have to assume that they didn't play the Pats in this scenario), they would have given every team in the AFC West at least 1 loss and every other team in the AFC South has at least 2 losses.

So with the current scheduling, the most undefeated teams you could have in 1 conference in any given year is 2.
