Jets | Ramsey not expected back

Jets | Ramsey not expected back
Sat, 24 Feb 2007 09:34:03 -0800
Dave Hutchinson, of the Star-Ledger, reports the New York Jets will likely release QB Patrick Ramsey. Ramsey is due a $1.4 million roster bonus March 2.

That is another QB who will be avalaible for teams looking to upgrade there position. So far we are looking at:

Jeff Garcia
Damon Huard
David Carr
Jake Plummer
Patrick Ramsey
Quinn Gray
Tim Rattay
Aaron Brooks
Joey Harrington (possibility)
Matt Schaub (possibility)

If anything this will hep us as other teams with QB need will end up picking this guys. Letting Quinn or Russell slide down.

as good of a job as Mangini did last year, he made two hideous trades (Ramsey and Barlow)

Last year this time there were people wanting Ramsey to come here until we got Harrington. Boy have things changed!

I don't think any of these guys will affect where Russell or Quinn go.

I read that. But Garcia could go to another team where he would have a better chance to start.

To which teams do you see him going and have a legitimate chance at starting? just curious, not trying to be smart btw...

I still think Quinn goes higher than that. Who knows. But I could see Minn taking Garcia. I'v read that they are high on T. Jackson, but he is still young and raw. So I could see them take Garcia and let T.J. learn behind him

Ramsey never got a chance to play and that was a good thing since it meant Chad was healthy but we needed a vet backup so that was a good deal, Barlow wasn't a good deal but he did help us win 10 games so for last year it helped but long term it's a bad deal.

I still like Ramsey and think he has talent to be a quality starter in this league, i'd certainly rather have a cheap Ramsey than an expensive Daunte. At least rasmey has some upside.
