With all these openings Jim Bates really deserves a coaching job somewhere and I will be disappointed if he does not. The guy really deserves a shot.

he does with green bay for sure. I know they're expected to draft Hawk simply because Hawk reminds bates of thomas.

I agree with you. I really liked Bates when he was here in Miami. I hope he gets hired somewhere.

There is already talk that Iowa coack Kirk Ferentz is the leading candidate in Green Bay.

I think he *deserves* a job somewhere, but, just speculation here, I doubt he'd get a shot unless they can't lure anyone else.

I hope get gets a shot, he a good guy and we had a good D under him. I could see him getting a chance, he can't be any worse then whats been fired today. And he's far better then DW.

I doubt that Bates will be the Packer HC, but I sure do bet ya that he will be a HC in the NFL. Bates did a fine job when he took over Wanny's place and went 3-4. With little talent and poor coaching we had, that's pretty good for a guy who just jumped in as a HC. Bates can make the players believe in him and he should be a fine HC in the leauge.

I would think Bates would get offered head coaching jobs somewhere cus of all the openings

as for the new coach of the Packers, I got two words BARRY ALVAREZ...at least thats what im hoping for

i know but that doesnt meen he wouldnt coach the Packers if he had the opportunity
