Kearse and Vick may play for a new team next year.NFL Rumors & Notes
There have been rumblings that the Eagles, after signing Trent Cole last week to a long-term extension that included a $12 million signing bonus, could consider releasing Jevon Kearse, who is scheduled to make $5.2 million in base salary and count $7,325,000 against the salary cap. ... Kearse said he was happy for Cole, and he wasn't concerned about his future with the Eagles. "No, no, no, no," he said. "As long as I'm healthy, I'm going to have a job. It doesn't matter where. I'm happy for [Cole]. That's part of the game - to try to get as much as you can while you can. Maybe that's the reason I got hurt this season, so Trent could get locked in." A team source said the Eagles have not considered releasing Kearse and have every intention of bringing him back next season. Posted November 16, by Ben Maller Digg this | Add to del.icio.us Discuss in the Forums | Link I'd be very surprised if Atlanta benched Michael Vick this season, but I won't be shocked if he's traded in the offseason. Many NFL observers believe Matt Schaub is the most-talented backup QB in the league. Posted November 16, by Ben Maller

Vick isn't going anywhere. Atlanta's owner cares more about ticket sales than winning, and Vick puts fans in the stadium. I'd be happy to part ways with his brother, though.
I think Minnesota will make a play for Schaub in the offseason. His contract is up, and Minnesota needs a QB who doesn't suck after trading away the best QB to ever play for them.

We don't need either one of them IMHO. I like Vick but he'd be no better than Daunte. In fact I'm pretty sure I'd take Daunte any day, once he gets healthy again. And no way we need another aging DL with a big hit on the salary cap required to get him.

the chances of vick being traded are about as good as me making an NFL roster.

In the 1960s and 1970s, Minnesota had this quarterback...I believe his name was Fran Tarkenton. He played in nine Pro Bowls, three Super Bowls, had virtually every career passing record until Dan Marino broke them all, and is still ranked third all-time in rushing yards by a quarterback. He also got voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Maybe Culpepper's physical talents were above Tarkenton's, but if you're talking career body of work, don't even try to claim that Daunte was better than Fran. |

The guy should be completing 60+ percent of his passes this year and coupled with his legs thats a DANGEROUS weapon. I dont think I could count on two hands and two feet how many balls his receivers have dropped this year.

Daunte Culpepper all time Viking record: 2000- 11-5 2001- 4-7 2002- 6-10 2003- 6-7 2004- 8-8 2005- 2-5 I think the Vikings did well by trading him. Obviously, he was not the answer, as he never learned to win consistently in this league. 2004, they started off with a 5-1 bang, and they end the season with a 3-7 flop. Story of Daunte's career as a Viking. They moved on, and they have a young quarterback drafted last offseason in the 2nd round, who Brad Childress named as the "Future". Tavaris Jackson looked pretty good in the preseason. |
