Smith was born and raised in Texas. Cowboys would be his dream job and it's the only reason such speculation is about. Smith would have never left Chicago for Miami, not for millions, not on your life.

This is only because Dallas is his "dream job" as her grew up in Texas. There is nothing to say that Miami was his dream job as well. Infact, there is no way he would have switched from the Bears gig to the Dolphins. It is all speculation now and I highly doubt he will leave Chicago anyways.

I don't see Lovie leaving the bears right now, that would be the worst back stab if I ever saw one, regardless if this is his "dream job" or not.

I like Lovie, he was a former Buccaneers coach, nice guy much like Dungey, however if he did this then I would have to place him in the same category as Satan and Butch Davis.

BACKSTAB?

Lovie has been looking for an extension for a while now, and the Bears have just jerked him around. No reason he should reach his final year of his contract like this.

That's ridiculous PB. A dream job is a dream job and we only live once. If I'd ever become a HC in the NFL and was offered my dream job of leading my Fins I'd take it in a heartbeat and for less money. If Lovie Smith leaves the Bears it will be after turning them into NFC Champs and Superbowl contenders. The Bears will be more than fine for years to come with or without Smith and they owe it all to Smith.

Well, we had to hire a HC while there were still good candidates available. I'm not saying that Cam will be a great coach, but he was one of the best candidates available. We can't expect Wayne & Co. to put hiring a HC on hold based on a rumor that Lovie might leave Chicago for Dallas. I think the right decision was made.

Actually I would say that Lovie would be a bad fit for Mia. His D-fence is the cover 2 and he favors small quick d-line man so it would had to be a complete rebuild of the d-fence plus his Off in Chicago have not been that good at all.

There are people on this site already wanting him to be fired.

Well lets say hypothetically that Lovie lead the Fins to the Super Bowl instead of the Bears (again hypothetically), and then left for Dallas to coach his dream job.

Would you be fine with the fact that Miami would most likely collapse after he left and not make the big game for a long, long time?

I wouldn't want to give up picks for him. I like our coach.

...the only way Lovie leaves Chicago is if they do not give him the extension. If they do give him the extension and we had yet to hire a head coach, what then do we do? Try to tell Cameron or any other head coaching candidate we wanted you all along but was just covering all the bases? I don't think so. To answer your question...No we did not hire a coach too soon.

IMO we made the right move going for an offensive minded coach.
