Lovie Smith: NFL Coach of the YearHeard announced on Sirius Satelite Radio (NFL Station) the the Associated Press announced Smith as Coach of the Year. I don't know how the voting went, just heard that he won it. Congrats to him.

the funny thing is, on the other Dolphins board I used to frequent (which I left as I got disgusted by the idiocy), I got attacked for saying Lovie Smith was going to be hired by the Bears, even though it was pretty much out there in just about every piece of news media online. someone even said he was going to be a "token minority interview" and said he stunk because he achieved nothing as coordinator in St. Louis (despite the fact that his appearance in 2001 is why the Rams got back in super bowl contention since the offense was already solid).
Lovie deserves it, plain and simple.

Congrats to him. He was deserving of it....but so where many others. Marvin Lewis, Tony Dungy, Nick Saban (no homer), Bill Bellichek (all those injures)...among othera.

Nick was never in contention since he didn't make the playoffs, and the last coach of the year to not make the playoffs was Jimmy Johnson in 1990. And he had a losing record (7-9) to boot.
