McMichael aims for a bigger roleLooks like McMichael might have a bigger role with the Lambs.
MEQUON, Wis. -- Tight end Randy McMichael caught a pass and his helmet, which had popped off, without breaking stride during a dazzling play at St. Louis Rams' training camp. "You should get style points for that," said coach Scott Linehan, with a grin. McMichael, a somewhat forgotten option in one of the NFL's worst offenses last year, has made several less-spectacular grabs. It's a promising sign for an offense that was one of the NFL's worst last season. "Randy's still going to be a guy who's going to be big in the run game and pass protection," Linehan said. "But he's going to be a weapon for us. In this system, he's going to get some pretty good looks, and he's really done a good job." http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?...miami+dolphins

The bigger question is and still remains, can he consistently catch the football?

Remind you of another recently departed Dolphin receiver who made the spectacular catch and dropped easy ones?

Randy had a worse case of the dropsies than Chris ever did. Plus, Randy certainly wasn't all that as a blocker. He knows how to put his hands up when it comes to his wife, but when it comes to protecting the QB from a defender he often whiffed.

I think this is a common theme every TC for McMichael. Somehow it doesn't ever translate into the regular season.

oh come now aqua oriented ones didn't you guys get the memo ?
" I am the hardest working dolphin player on the roster " the Randyman was not only the hardest worker on the team but his colorful insight almost had Wanny on the right path . besides Randy was a victim of the changing qb syndrome and none of us could have survived that situation either . good ole Randy I would rather have traded jason taylor and kept this billiant and noble lad . I really loved it when Randy made Jason and Madison cry Feidler while he put them in a headlock and wanny came out and fined him 25,000 Randy Mcmichael was not a wife beater she was the one who attacked him and al he did was pushed her back . if anyone deserves to be up there with Marino and Greise its the Randyman and chambers too. ok so i am drunk tonight but i think you guys are missing the big picture and that changing o.c. and qb's is why randy and chris under acheive and both players got a raw deal while in miami , for they didnt have a good head coach to make use of there finite talents. we had worse players then those two that much i know. |

Exactly Sn9ke, this guy says this every offseason and winds up with 35 catches for 350 yards and is generally a non factor. His mouth is his most prolific aspect.
