FLORENCE PICKS THE JAGS

The Jaguars have continued their aggressive approach to free agency by agreeing to terms with cornerback Drayton Florence, according to FOXSports.com.

Florence was a second-round pick of the Chargers in 2003. The emergence of Antonio Cromartie made Florence expendable there. (Besides, tough-guy G.M. A.J. Smith likely couldn't get comfortable with having a player named "Florence" on the roster.)

Florence reportedly received $12 million in bonus money from the Jaguars.

On Friday, the Jags signed receiver Jerry Porter to a $30 million deal, with $10 million in guaranteed money.

The nickelback part confused me, hell we should have made him our starter.

Jaguars signed CB Drayton Florence. He will receive $12 million in guarantees.

He's only a league-average cornerback, but he was the most experienced starter on the market. Jacksonville did well signing Brian Williams to a similar deal, and now has one of the deepest backfields in the NFL. Florence will probably be a nickel back.

I dont understand why he went there if he is planning on being a nickel. I thought he wanted to start.

Parding my mouth but what in the heck are u talking about? the Jags now have 3 starter quality conerbacks in the backfeild. along with a pretty good duo for safetys.

Florence is average. 12 million gauranteed for that is dumb.

if the jags turn their WR mess around, they are gonna be nasty. another contender to help dethrone NE in the AFC is good IMO
