wow! i didnt think he would get that many, he was a two time offender, once in 03 or 04 i believe and now. i thought he would get around 4 games but guess not.Goodell is coming down hard on everyone.

I'm glad though. 'Bout time they try to clean up the league. Make sure guys know if they are going to do things, they are going to get punished accordingly

I doubt anything will happen to Joey. The people getting suspended have had numerous off the field problems in short periods of time.

It is nice seeing the Commish come down hard on these clowns....even though I hope Joey Porter doesn't get suspended, I think he could also miss a game or two.

Anything more than ONE game for Joey would be a bit much....I think a $10,000 fine or something along those lines, would be fair. We'll see what Goddell wants to do. There's a new Sheriff in town and the fellas better wake up.

That is such bull****! The guy served 60 days in prison...that should be taken into account. This is really ridiculous...and if this board was owned by the NFL, I would probably get a 6 year ban for posting this.

He could get it knocked from 8 games to 6. At least they are working with him. But he has had problems off the field sense he was at UW

Everything I've heard about the new policy says that suspension is not likely if it is a "first offense". The common thread with PacMan, Tank, and Chris Henry is that they have had multiple run-ins with the law.

I don't think that is the case with Joey Porter - isn't this his first run-in with the law? If so, I don't think he gets suspended, I think he pays a fine and gets put on "probation".

Joey Porter should run and hide. Sure Tank had a worse history than Porter, but he SPENT 60 DAYS IN JAIL and a fine, yet still got 8 games.

I wouldn't be surprised if Porter gets 4 games.
