Mike Sherman offered position on Texans staff

Texans | Sherman offered a position
Sat, 28 Jan 2006 09:15:07 -0800

ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Houston Texans have offered former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike Sherman a position on their coaching staff. He was offered the role of assistant head coach/offensive line.

I thought that Sherman was goona sit a year and wait and get a HC job next year. I guess he quickly changed his mind and wanted to keep on coaching in the NFL. Teams will likely go after him as a HC next season, so I don't suspect for him to stay there for long. It is strange to see a former HC to be a position coach.

Damn, that's a hell of a demotion. I thought he would at least be offered a Coordinator spot somewhere. And if he wants a HC job next year, he WILL NOT take a job as the Texans O-Line coach. That is the one job you do NOT want for if you're looking for a quick turnaround promotion.
