Mike Tice accepts job with Jags

Jaguars | Tice accepts job on coaching staff
Tue, 31 Jan 2006 18:49:35 -0800

The Star Tribune reports former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Tice has accepted a job with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Tice confirmed Tuesday night, Jan. 31, that he accepted a job. His title is unknown at this time. Speculation was that Tice could be in line for either a position as assistant head coach or as replacement for offensive line coach Paul Boudreau.

I cannot believe how many former Head Coaches have gone to other teams and accepted lesser roles. Okay, maybe at least a OC or DC, but the other positions I think would be a slap in the face. I am sure college teams would like a Mike Tice etc.

Well there arent any good college jobs out there that I know about so most of these guys are going to decent programs where they can work on getting back to a HC gig when it comes up.

They are "assistant head coaches" so they are the #2 man behind the head coach.
