Mike Tice on the HOT seat???

Sorry fellas, I don't have a link....

Quote:
An 80-minute meeting Mike Tice called with his players earlier in the day left some wondering if their coach was on the verge of resigning. Some players praised Tice, with one veteran calling the meeting very "useful." But three players said Tice told them he contemplated resigning hours after the Vikings' blowout loss to the Falcons, a point two players considered deplorable. One starter said Tice delivered a "rambling resignation speech." "He quit on us," the starter said. "I lost all respect for him." "You could tell he gave up on us," another player said. According to that player, Tice also said he would not be surprised if Vikings owner Zygi Wilf made a coaching change.
-- St. Paul Pioneer Press
Tice needs to get canned if the Vikes want to win.

The Vikings just need a makeover big time. They got the players to go far, it's just that injuries is really hurting them right now.

Well, I for one want to see then win 9 or 10 in a row, because if he is canned, Linehan will be the next cocah of the Vikings!

Who do they get to coach now though? They are pretty much stuck with Tice unless he resigns.

I think he is going to rebound and Minny will still win the division. He should be fired though there not a championship team with him.

Mike Tice has been on the HOT seat for awhile now... I don't see him finishing as Minnesota's coach this season. Minnesota has disappointed many but anyone in the NFC North has a realistic shot of winning division with 7+ wins. The best team right now may actually be the Chicago Bears... or at least whomever gets the bye week ends up being the best team, but I think the Bears have a very good D that they could very well have the best division record.

Did that actually go through? Last I heard they were debating over something. Can't say that I kept up with it though.

From the sound of the article I agree he may not finish the year. I cant say I have ever been a fan of Tice and Minnesota will be well served to fire him at the end of the season if not sooner. I think the big question is who will repalce him. Many people on this site (including me) fear that Linehan will be asked to be the HC, however I dont think that would be a very good move for the vikes either unless they hire a very good gm. Right now I just dont think Scott is ready to be a HC. Offensive cordinator? Heck yes, HC? Maby after several years under Saban learning how to run a team. I hope he thinks this too.

I think they their Defensive Coordinator Ted Cotrell will take over as their interim coach once Tice is fired and depending on his performance will determine if he will be their coach next year... The two other names that I have heard have been Scott Linehan (obviously but doubt he'll leave Miami) and Jim Fassel.

Jim Fassel would be intresting, I always thought that he got a raw deal in his final year with the giants because of all the injuries they had.

Mike Tice & Brian Billick will not survive the year. I predict that Billick, not Linehan, will return to Minnesota as head coach & Fassel will be promoted in Baltimore.
