Basically. They should have a disqualification loss in their record.

Also, props to the refs in Baltimore who single handedly won that game for them.

Neither the Giants or the Packers or any other NFL team for that matter can stand in the way of history.

By the way its going to be the giants who will go down as the loser along the Patriots "path to perfection"

Tiki Barber underestimated Eli as well and was running his mouth about him and Coughlin...I bet we won't hear a peep out of him for a while. The difference between the Giants and a lot of teams is they can rush the QB, they can run the ball, and they can get it to Plaxico and their receivers. Lots of teams lose their edge with a two week break, but the Giants have won ten straight on the road and are peaking at the right time.

According to a few things I've read it's still very possible that there WILL be an asterisk next to the Patriots of 2007-2008.

We're not going to know for sure until the season is completely over.

I sure hope so.

They don't DESERVE to join the 1972 Dolphins.

Comparisons are never that easy. You've got some apples and oranges there. I certainly won't try to take everything away from NE, but the Giants and Redskins wouldn't have made the playoffs back then. Pittsburgh also might not have. They only had 4 playoff teams then.
Two very big differences between then and now:
1) There wasn't a bye week for Miami to rest up while their next opponent was worn down.
2) Miami played the AFC Championship game AT Pittsburgh, despite having the best record in the league. That's a major accomplishment.

I've stopped trying to seriously compare teams and players from different eras. It can be fun trying to do so, but every time you think you have something, there is a mitigating factor that makes the comparison too subjective.

Either way, N.E. is 1a to Chicago's 1b of the best teams from my NFL viewing lifetime.
