NFL "new is better"

What as the NFL come too. Oakland fires there coach after only one season, Nick Saban leaves aftrer 2 years, Bill leaves after 4, Dennis Green.. Why aren't any of these coachs today staying around. It seems like new coach's are always better.. But I think it screws up there team. Learning a new D-fense new offense... Why don't owners hire coachs to stay for a long period of time.. Every once in awhile a team is going to have a bad year, doesn't meen the Coach is junk... Andy Reid, Bill Cowher, Fisher have all had losing season. But they didn't get fired.... I think losing a coach is like losing a great player on the team, a leader.... ANY THOUGHT???

I feel the exact same way, one example I can think of is a few years ago when the Chargers were always bad. Marty Schottenheimer was on the hot seat for years there and he went from 4-12 to 14-2 the very next season.

Forsure, how the NFL is today, with salary cap, and injuries. Your bound to havebad season's. So you should get rid of your Head Coach makes no sense to me...

I think NFL coaches get too much of the credit when the team wins and too much of the blame when the team losses. Remember how everyone was calling "Chuckie" Gruden a genius when he won the Superbowl a few years ago??? How come he is no longer a genius? Did he get "dumb" since winning the SB? I think winning games is 90% talent, and maybe 5% coaching and 5% luck.

If you put two uncoached teams on the field.....you get an ugly sloppy game. You but an overmatched coach vs a great coach and you get a blowout. You put two great coaches on the field and you get a classic.

Now obviously some teams are just overmatched based on talent, but one you get to a certain point coaching becomes maybe the most important things. In the Salary cap era you have to assume lots of teams are at least close in talent.

I agree. Nowadays NFL owners want instant success from coaches. It seems like if you don't go 13-3 in your first two seasons you're not good enough. They don't give coaches time to build their team. How does the saying go-Rome wasn't built in a day.

I likes how there were articles, talking about Marty getting fired after a 14-2 season, just b/c he lost in the playoffs...

One thing I respect about a coach is loyality, which is why I like Fisher, Shanahan, and Billick to name a few.
