Norv Turner returning to Big D?

It won't be a surprise if Cowboys owner Jerry Jones bites the bullet and dials up 49ers offensive coordinator Norv Turner. Dallas is the only NFL city where the twice-failed Turner might get Opportunity No. 3. Jones, who has in the past indicated a lack of willingness to hire Turner as a head coach, might conclude it's the best short-term alternative for the team. In a brief conversation with Jimmy Johnson on Tuesday, Jones' original coach indicated that Turner might have a shot at the job.

They say that if, during Jerry Jones' interview with Garrett, he decides that Garrett is ready to be the "Head Coach of the Offense", they'll hire him as OC and Wade Phillips as HC and groom Garrett to take over 3-4 years down the road.

If he's not ready to do that, They'll hire Norv Turner as HC and Garrett as OC, and, same story, groom him for the future.
