Bengals agreed to terms with DE Antwan Odom on a five-year, $29.5 million contract. The deal includes $11.5 million guaranteed.
The Bengals' recent moves (also trying to deal for Dewayne Robertson) indicate they're not sold on using a 3-4 in 2008. Odom, 26, had a career best eight sacks while playing in a rotation with Travis LaBoy in 2007. He had 21 total tackles. The Bengals will likely put him at right end, a position he's struggled at, and ask him to play every down. We'd avoid him in IDP leagues. The Cardinals are expected to announce the signing of free agent Travis LaBoy later today. We'd guess he'll get a deal for four to five years worth $18-20 million. Free agent LB Brandon Chillar is slated to arrive in Arizona this evening. Via rotoworld.com |

I initially read the title of this post as 'Odom and Ladyboy both signed'. I wonder what that says about me...
Anyway, I'm kind of pleased Miami isn't signing more players at the moment. For starters, there will be draft picks to play (and pay) and also, it's unrealistic to expect the worst team in the league to go to being good the following season. I'm sure there are examples of it happening but, more often than not, they're pretty bad again (See 'Oakland Raiders' for reference). It'll take a couple of years to fill the roster out properly. Obviously there will be players filling the roster in number but some of them are just placeholders and it'll take a couple of years of drafting and free agency to turn the team round. Please be patient people.
