One thing I won't give the Colts.......The one knock on the Colts I'm still going to hang on them is that their defense isn't great or even good.
Rd 1 they got KC. And Herm had the worst offensive gameplan ever. Plus that offense is nothing special anyway. Rd 2 they beat Baltimore. A horrible offense in general. Rd 3 they got lite up in the 1st half by NE. Second half they did ok, but NE was dropping passes and has 12 guys in the huddle penalties that gift wrapped Indy that game Rd 4 they got the Bears with maybe the worst offense in the history of the sport to ever get this far. Their offense sucks. Sure, Indy's defense was ok. But it wasn't great by any means. It wasn't even good. They caught a HUGE break by getting a good playoff draw and with who they played!!!!!

They still beat everyone put in front of them though and thats what counts. Honestly the only team I think would have beat them was the Chargers.

. They stepped up in the playoffs and you should at least give them some credit! Sure they weren't like any of the last SB Defences but they were still solid when they had to!

As far as getting a good playoff draw, you make very little sense. Baltimore and New England were two of the top teams in the AFC. The only one they didn't play was San Diego. As far as the Bears offense being the worst offense in history to get that far, I think you are extremely far off base with that one. Chicago's offense, during the season, was pretty solid, just inconsistent. Worse offense than Chicago's? 2000 Baltimore Ravens. 1990 New York Giants. and arguably the 2002 Tampa Bay Bucs.

Baltimore's offense stunk this year. As did Chicago's. And KC is nothing to write home about. The Colts D drew a good draw in the playoffs. That can't be denied

Kansas City's was pretty pedestrian compared to years past, but their running game was not, and Indianapolis shut it down. Chicago's offense did not stink. Chicago scored 427 points on the year, yes, somewhat due to defensive forced turnovers, but they also averaged around 325 rushing yards a game. And when they were on during the season....they were hard to stop. I wouldn't say they were a top offense in the league, but you are making them sound like the Oakland Raiders. Your comment on "good draw in the playoffs" is nonsensical. Indianapolis played three teams in the AFC playoffs with a combined record of 34-14, and drew Baltimore on the road, who should have been able to run over their shoddy run defense. The only other teams Indy could have played in the playoffs were the New York Jets (mediocre) or the San Diego Chargers (explosive). So other than the fact that they didn't play the Chargers, you're going to have to explain your "good draw".

FYI, the "awful" Baltimore Ravens offense averaged 344.2 yards per game, and the team averaged 24.3 points per game over the last 10 regular season games.
Yea, that "stinks"...our Dolphins would have begged for games like that.

While I think he was talking more in regards to offensive prowess of the teams played, I think his comment is silly because between the only two teams they did not play, only one of them had a formidable offense, and the Jets probably had one of the worst of the playoff crop.

To belittle the Colts' D is ludicrous. They arent amazing, but they did manage to be the better defense in all their games and thats all that matters.

The Colt's D was horrible when Jacksonville killed them a few months ago, BUT they turned things around and played their best football when it counted so you can't take that away from them.
Congrats to Peyton and the Colts. Looking forward to our season opener in September. ![]()
