Packers File Tampering Charges Against VikingsIn the latest installment of the soap opera known as the Brett Favre, looks like the Green Bay Packers have filed tampering charges against the Minnesota Vikings. The twist in this latest development is how this plays out given two statements earlier this year by Roger Goodell. First, he said that he wanted to crack down on tampering by teams. That was in regards to free agents, and Favre isn't even a free agent. Even though he retired, he's still under contract with the Packers. Second, Goodell said that he was going to lower the threshold for the amount of evidence needed to impose penalties to the preponderance of guilt. So does that mean that Goodell will not need an admittance of guilt, a signed contract, or a witness? The Vikings coach is not going to implicate himself, and I can't see Favre making a statement that would help out the front office of the Packers, given his other comments about the Packer's management over the last week.

You would imagine Favre's not likely to help out the Green Bay front office with this one but I've heard him say a few things which have made me think 'Don't you consider what you're going to say before you open your mouth?' in the past. Maybe they were all considered statements but sometimes I think he says things he shouldn't. For example, mentioning about Javon Walker and his contract dispute that time. That wasn't any of Favre's business. It was between the GB management and Walker. If I had a work colleague telling me 'Just come to work' if I was on strike for a pay raise I wouldn't be too happy, never mind if s/he was going to the press about it. I know that's some time ago but, in general, I think Favre isn't always the most thoughtful or considerate of others in some of the statements he makes via the press.

TamperingI dont care what Green Bay says or does they are still acting like a bunch of clowns. Now I know Farve is a high maintence player especially the last few years with this retirement issue. I will even say that Farve messed up by anouncing his retirement after a great season only one game removed from the Super Bowl. However the Packers are morons. They say they have moved on. What a joke. Moved on to what? An untested QB who has almost no starting expierence whatsoever. The Green Bay Packers are totally stupid in my opinion for either not welcoming Farve back with open arms or granting him a trade.
He has asked for an unconditional release but why dont he Packers counter offer with a conditional release to an AFC team and get something for Farve? To me they are just being babies about the whole thing even if Farve is a little high maintence. He is a legend and has brought that franchise greatness just by him putting on their uniform.
