Patriots (End of a dynasty)

Honest opinion do you think this is the end of the Patriots dynasty? I hate the Patriots more than any other team in the league and I want peoples opinions on them.

Yes the Cheatriots so-called "dynasty" is over...I really question whether they ever had a dynasty to begin with, considering they won their three superbowls by three points or less in each game....and they had to win at least one of them (against St Louis) by videotaping the other team's practices in the red zones. I think next to any "dynasty," there needs to be three asterisks, saying the Cheatriots won their SB's by cheating.

yeah i think so too. look for seau, harrison, bruschi, samuels and yes i think randy moss will not be back either. I believe Moss wont be back because i dont think they will dish out the big money for him. It has been reported that Kelley Washington ( i know didnt do much but still) will be gone due them not picking up the option and Stallworth will also be gone. I think their team will start faling apart over the next couple of years. I am not saying that they will not be playoff contenders b/c they might be but they will steadily demise. You have to remember that only one team has been back in the playoffs following a defeat in the SB (Seahawks) in the recent years.. I think we will regain our division crown in the next couple years.

according to a member of the Boston Globe that was on ESPN News, he does not expect the Pats to keep Randy Moss or Asante Samuels because the organization does not traditionally overspend. He does not expect that Donte Stallworth's option will be picked up, and he also believes that Roosevelt Colvin will be cut. Also says it's 50-50 on whether Junior Seau and Teddy Bruschi come back, but if they do they will not be starters.

I still cant call a team that wins superbowls by a field goal a dynasty. I mean shouldnt they have to win at least one by a touchdown or more? Is there one dynasty that hasnt had at least one blowout superbowl?

In any event, they haven't won a SB in awhile; so to me any talk of a current dynasty is BS. They've certainly been one of the strongest and most consistent teams in the past few years. But again the last 3 SB winners have been the Giants, Colts and Steelers.

You disqualify the patriots because they have not one by more then three points and then ask if any have had at least one. Bottom line is that they did win, not by how many points they won by. Just like this year the bottom line is they lost. All the points they scored all season are meaningless.

What is meaningful about those wins is the question of if they cheated or not. If it can be proven that they have been cheating, then this is a mute dicussion because none of thier wins carry crediability. Irreguardless of what punishment is handed out, it will always be remembered they cheated and do not deserve to be credited as a dynasty and thier reputation will be forever tarnished as long as Belicheat coaches them and maybe even as long as Kraft owns them.

I find the commioners postion hypocritical. The leauge considers a players urine test to be positive if it has too much water in its content, because they consider that a masking agent on the test. They are saying that if your trying to hide the contents of your urine, you are assumed guilty. When Godell deystroyed evidence that IMO is essentially the same thing. They must be assumed to hiding incriminating evidence or they would not of hidden the evidence from the public.

With that being said I dont see how anyone can ever consider the Patriots wins legitamate and you can not call the 2000-2008 Patriots a dynasty.

It depends. How will there ageing Dline look? Seau is getting up there, among others.
Brady is how old now?

On the flip side if some old guys retire that frees up good cap room which could be used to fill those gaps and a lot of players would take a pay cut to play for a team with a good chance for a ring.

Patriots will be in the playoffs last year.... and every year that both Brady and Bellicheat are there. But the team is pretty old and the window is slowly closing. I don't see the pats winning more then 1 SB in the next... 4 years. I hope not Even that. I am biased but I want nothing more then to see the Chargers Spend all day sacking Brady in a playoff game.

They will be in the playoffs... weak scheudle.

I don't think their run is quite over yet. They have for many years now let the expensive FAs leave the team only to replace them with a quite capable unheard of player who fills in quite well.
