You honestly think they weren't excited about this? I'm sure they were hoping more than anyone that it happened. Everyone knows they both want out.

Well yeah thats mostly the point, why would you go back and play hard for a team you dont like, and now has proven it doesnt like you?

if atlanta does not take that deal they are so dumb. there i no way i wouldnt take it if i were them. matt shaub has looked very impressive with his opportunities.

At least if Atlanta does this they'll prob be in line for a top pick in next years draft too. I really don't see what people see in Schaub, he seems very average and that team doesn't have many playmakers on offense currently and even with moss and porter I see problems. Then again they could draft a stud OT and WR, or turn around and make that choice into even more picks.

With that said, why doesn't Oakland just draft a QB. Russell and Quinn are top class players, why take the chance on Vick? IMHO they're just looking for a quick fix to success. Vick will no doubt get them 8~10 wins a season, but they should be looking to rebuild fully.

Biggest problem

atlanta cap room 9 million
vicks if cut will cost 22 million but a trade will pass it over to the other team and is more cap friendly.

Oakland is ******ed with this trade but it shows how desperate they our for an offense! Also Vick in an Oakland Jersey would sell so much just like the Moss ones! Oakland would make a lot of money off this deal and Oakland whos offense is horrible will just revolve everything around Vick and let him do his own thing and run his own offense

What exactly has Jerry Porter accomplished in his NFL career?

I think he made a real nice diving catch against Denver a few years back.

No wait, I think that was actually Ron Curry.

This isn't that dumb for the Raiders. Neither of those guys want to be there anyway and aren't likely to return, while even without a recieving corps Vick could potentially win a few more games than they would otherwise (his problem is not lacking ability to win, its consistency). If they could swing Vick for that, it would almost be robbery. At the same time, the talent the Falcons get in return could be worthwhile considering Schaub seems to be very competent. This is an intriguing offer.

I dont think this is a good move for the Falcons, you bring in two receivers who haven't been productive in the last 2 years and trade the face of your franchise. Sure Vick smokes pot but Randy Moss probably sells it to him! Moss ran over a cop for christ sake! I personally think Schaub would be a better fit for Petrino's offense but the Falcons would be better off trading Vick for 2 1st rounders and a 2nd rounder or something.
