If Im Atlanta, I would pull this. Time to realize that Vick is not going to be a passing NFL QB. Suck up the cap hit the first year with a new coach, take Russell in the draft, and attempt to trade Randy Moss back to someone and stockpile picks this year.

Added: February 1, 2004 - Avatars and signatures should not have any type of nudity or be too risqué, nor are they to contain violence. Basically, nothing sexually explicit or violent. However we also ask that you refrain from using bathing suit-type photos altogether for the purpose of promoting on-topic conversation. We believe this is fair as avatars and signatures are in every forum. In some forums these pictures may or may not be allowed. Thus, there should be no pictures, as stated above, in one's avatar or signature. However, images such as stated in the above may be posted in The Ladies Lounge.

Added: January 15, 2005 - You are permitted one photo per signature. Please keep the dimensions within the 400x300 pixel range and below 40k in size. Exceptions can be made if a signature is wider than 400 pixels, but much shorter than 300 pixels in height (a banner for example). Not only does this make for a sleeker, less congested forum, but it also helps visitors who are limited to 56K dialup connections. Added: January 23, 2006 – The use of quotes from other members in your signature in a derogatory or inflammatory manner is not allowed. This creates bad feelings among fellow members, and is considered a personal attack. Added:14 February 2006 - Politically oriented Sig and Avatars are not permitted. This tends to distract from discussions, much as a sexually explicit one would.

Absolutely, this is a no brainer for Atlanta. Petrino runs a pass heavy offense anyway, Vick does not fit. Make the trade then trade whatever WR Minnesota wants for another pick and your still stacked at WR, have a more than capable QB in Schuab, an extra pick, and the #1 overall pick to boot!

I'd make the deal. Draft a franchise QB and have Schaub be your guy for a year or two

I'd jump all over that if I'm Atlanta.

Schaub could very well already be thier franchise QB, which means they could then shop around that #1 overall pick and see what opportunities arise elsewhere...either way it's a win win situation for Atlanta if in fact that trade took place

I swear, the Raiders are the dumbest team in the NFL. They are willing to make this trade to get a guy who was almost behind bars for marijuana?

That's trading TWO head cases for ONE head case.

IMO, I would try to ask the Raiders for Michael Huff plus the draft upgrade for Michael Vick. Their defense and secondary was great enough without him [they actually have a [playoff caliber defense], and the Falcons need help on their secondary. If they want to send Jerry Porter, then that would be great too, but I much rather have the BPA in the draft with the 1st pick overall, Calvin Johnson. Besides, why would the Falcons draft a quarterback when they're high on Matt Schaub?

Let's see the problem with vick has always been that he has no WR's to throw to(legit reason or not). So you trade your #1 and #2 WR and the chance to draft Calvin Johnson for Vick who then will throw to Ronald Curry??

Sounds like a great Idea AL!!

The Falcons insist they have no plans to trade or release Michael Vick before the 2007 season, according to a spokeswoman for team owner Arthur Blank. In fact, Vick will be back as the team's starter, thwarting speculation about his status or stature with the franchise. In addition to the desire to keep Vick, the salary-cap ramifications of trading or cutting him would make a move prohibitive. "There are no plans to trade him or cut him," Kim Shreckengost, executive vice president of operations for Arthur M. Blank Group, said. "Michael is our quarterback and the leader of our team. We have a new head coach [Bobby Petrino] who is anxious to start working with him. Everyone has high expectations of him going into next season.

Looks like the Falcons still may lose a QB though.......

There is no guarantee Matt Schaub will be with the team next season. He is a restricted free agent. If another team is willing to offer Schaub a contract the Falcons won't match, he can leave in exchange for preset compensation, which most likely would be at least a first-round pick. If Schaub does return, he would be an unrestricted free agent after the 2007 and could leave without the Falcons receiving anything in return.

If the Falcons can keep Schaub, it would be great deal for them, but as always, a stupid move by the Raiders & Al Davis.

The falcons should make that deal in a second.
I think they'd be better off in the long run if they did IMO.

Atlanta should've done this. They are already stacked financially at WR with a few former first round picks on their first contract. They probably don't need both Moss AND Porter.

But how can Moss and Porter, who already aren't happy with Oakland, now just sit back and know that the team actually TRIED to trade them? I don't see them coming back next year.
